Barbarian merc (Act 5?)

Would a merc throw a

Throwing Axe or would he use it as a regular

Axe?

Also, do mercs have skills that you can buff with + to skills items?

I've recently concentrated on the

Throwing Knife/dart sorc I mentioned a few months ago. I thought about making her merc an Act 5 one. Although, she should probably have a tank instead of a ranged one.

I was truly surprised how easily she handled Diablo.

Yes.

A5 merc can only equip swords and the generic "+ to skills" items or buffs apply to his own skills.
