Description

I'm running Ubers with my Smiter but after respec my last 2 attempt were complete failure. From first one good Schnorki saved my ass but last one was one shot from Meph. So, I'd like to learn my lesson here. I have Grief, Exile, TGod, Wisp but not sure how much light res I need to be relaxed on Meph?

Can be used to make Runewords:

* I trade both ladder and non-ladder, please check before asking.

You need at least 300 lightning res.
Other res must be closed to that.

You can also put T-god, the 20 Lightning Absorb and 10% Max Lightning Resist are so good against Uber Meph and Soul.

With
Life Tap
from
Dracul's Grasp
, Uber Meph should be OK.

When I put on Grief, Exile, GR, DG and activate
Fade
it reaches 269 light res. With Wisp and TG do I still need to reach 300+?

Or should I
Sacrifice
Grief and use HoTo?

Don't, Grief is just too good.
You can use a paladin shield with high res and put 4
Perfect Diamond
to reach 300 res.
People do that for budget Uber build.

I use 1 point in
Salvation
while hitting meph, then switch to fanatism for Diablo and
Baal

Thanks. It seems this set up works well.

I think the main trick is getting lifetap up ASAP. I like to fight the skeletons that meph spawns first, wait for
Life Tap
to activate and then ill engage meph.

Or use a
Life Tap
Wand
for getting it activated and then switch to weapon.

When I'm not slaying demons, I'm usually out hiking mountains.

I have Exile and DG so mostly no need for
Wand
. The problem was I was hit so hard that no chance to recover with
Life Tap
. With my current set up, I guess he can't hit that hard. Wisp and TG are really good.

Weapon: Grief PB
Shield: HoZ (
Um
/ PDiamond)
Armor: Treachery
Helm
:
Guillaume's Face
(
Ort
)
Amulet: Mara's
Gloves: Dracul's
Belt
: Thundergod's
Boots
:
Gore Rider

Rings: Ravenfrost +
Dwarf Star

Swap: CTA + Spirit
Inventory: Small charms with +lightning resist / whatever else you may need, Anni, Torch

With
Mephisto
, it's all about stacking that lightning resists (easiest way is through small charms). I'm maxed out even after his
Conviction
aura. With the gear above, I've been doing the Ubers ever since the game started and I haven't died a single time, no
Cap
.

I take back my suggestion
7
While outleveling
Ɯber Mephisto
's
Conviction
aura is not the worst idea, you'd be wasting way too many skill points on an aura that's pretty much useless outside of this one particular encounter. I'd strongly advise against it. In addition, the OP is asking about the optimal gear for this fight, the one you've listed is far from it.

Yeah, don't.

Apart from just the res factor, Grief has too many benefits. Not only because the dmg is night and day per hit but also because with a Grief pb, you can quite easily hit max
Smite
speed even without using fana. And not having max attack speed just means you take longer for
Life Tap
procs and leech less due to less swings once it does proc.

Personally, I don't gear specifically for meph. I just gear my smiter to hit max res in normal play and then for meph switch over to
Salvation
instead of fana (while keeping max
Smite
speed even then). That typically leaves you with more than enough res to handle him (without silly stuff like a tgods) and it has the added benefit of keeping your merc alive, too.

in my mega budget paladin i use.

HeavenĀ“s light
Guilleame
Duress
HoZ
BK Ring
Raven Frost

Gore Rider

DraculĀ“s

And Verdungo and Thundergod
Vigor

In order to do
Uber Tristram
, before i enter de portal, i cast
Fade
, then i equip thunders god
Vigor
, kill
Mephisto
, and the switch to verdungo to kill
Baal
and diablo

ALL MY TRADES ARE NON-LADDER

OP
Thanks for the insights, guys. After I opened this topic, I made 2 runs and there's nothing to worry about. Even the first one, Meph was right at the portal entrance but done nothing. My set up and preparation seem like a little overkill, but he killed me twice, so better be prepared than sorry.

For a brief explanation: After procing
Fade
, I go with Fortitude. With Grief and Exile (30 AR
Eth
ST base), I get 269 LR. With Wisp and TG, he actually even can't hit me. And the rest is completely easy.
