300% resistance is needed to neutralize Über Mephisto's level 20 Conviction aura. 270% counting the Prison of Ice act 5 quest.
75% max resistance. 100% for the Hell difficulty penalty. and 125% for Über Mephisto's Conviction aura.

He is possibly the most feared boss of the game, with his Conviction aura negating strongly your resistances, especially to Lightning (if not prepared, you can get one-shot at 2000 life, I tested it for you

Most guides recommend to take him away first by luring him from the top side of Uber Tristram. When done Uber Diablo and Uber Baal should be way easier - fighting the three together is an extremely hard challenge !

If you have maximum resistance bonus applied and want to reach that value, then it will be 300% resistance plus the maximum resistance bonus.
Example 1) Mercenary wearing Guardian Angel will need 300% + 15% = 315% resistance. Meph's Conviction aura won't drop it below 90%.
Example 2) Hero with Lo socketed on armor will need 300% + 5% = 305% resistance. Meph's Conviction aura won't drop it below 80%.
