I always wanted to give my Merc an Obedience, but last week or so i found a The Reaper's Toll and it already increased my farmspeed and my survivability massively (I play a Frenzy-Barb).
Now I was wondering if an Obedience would be even better.
I´m sure one of you was in my situation before and can help me out.

You need reapers for that wonderful Decrepify to counter physical immunes, unless you equip a Lawbringer. In that case, if your merc has another source of life leech, Obedience could be good
Sweet Lovely Death
Just waiting for your breath
Come sweet Death
One Last Caress
For my Frenzy Barb Reapers Toll is best most of the time, except these two occasions:
- Travincal if you are horking - both are not good because of the cold damage
- Ubers - Obedience is my preference because of the Decrepify overwriting the Life Tap and also Obedience offers some more resistances, which for there is essential
You play in a different language and want to trade an item with the name "Brennender Riesenzauber der Verstümmelung"?
Use the Baaltor tool to translate it into "Burning Grand Charm of Maiming"

Reapers is the way to go when starting out. Like you said, huge survivability boost thanks to decrep.
However, I'd recommend looking for an EthArioc's Needle for Trav farming, to avoid cold damage. Every corpse counts / All corpses matter
I used a non-Eth Arioc´s Needle before i found the Reaper´s toll...
I guess i´m staying on reapers so far. Next milestone is Fortitude anyway
Yea, non Eth Ariocs is fairly weak, so Reapers def beats it.
And Fortitude is a great choice for merc armor, so long as you don't plan on horking. More cold damage from the Chilling Armor proc. Chains of Honor would be the best choice for merc, if you do plan on horking.
