Yeah it used to be 3 perfect gems, then someone 'corrected' me to say 3 chipped gems. Fixed now.

it's probably mixed with this:
- 3 Chipped Gems + 1 Magic Weapon = Socketed Magic Weapon
- 3 Perfect Gems (of any type) + 1 Magic Item = 1 New Random Magic Item of the Same Type
I was thinking the same thing, and the comment on the recipe page only makes it worse by linking to a video timestamp that's out of context.
