Advice needed: Am I ready for Ubers?

Hello everyone,

like most of you I played D2 Classic and LoD. Unfortunately I never managed to reach the point where I was able to finish the hellfire quest. Until now.

Thanks to this amazing site, its trading partners and enough dedication on my end I have now finally build and geared a smiter and would like to hear your opinion, if you see me fit for defeating Ubers solo. If you have any ideas for improvements they are much appreciated!

This is my Pala Snowpiercer without buffs: This is his gear: Mainhand

Lightsabre and blue

Sacred Targe of deflecting (30block rate, 20block chance, 2pdias with 83AR combined).
Offhand Call To Arms (5/6/3 yeah!) and Spirit.

Guillaume's Face with

Um

Guardian Angel with

Um

Dracul's Grasp (7ll)

Raven Frost

Angelic Halo

Angelic Wings

Verdungo's Hearty Cord

Goblin Toe

I bough a

Life Tap

Wand to swap with offhand.

Hellfire Torch (Pala/11/19)
+1 Offensive Aura Skiller +20 life (yeah!)
a bunch of small life and small/grand resist charms (nothing too fancy)


This is my Pala with cta: This is my Pala buffed with cta,

Holy Shield and

Fade (wearing

Guardian Angel and

Thundergod's Vigor): Some numbers:

Smite damage with

Fanaticism (Lvl25) and

Holy Shield (Lvl24) on is 1095-1660.
25% Chance of Open Wounds
60% Chance of Crushing Blow
15% Chance of Deadly Strike
Lightning Absorb 25%
12% Damage Reduction
.. and as you can see +303% Lightning Resistance with 95% max.

I could swap some life or resist charms for one naked +1 Combat Skiller I have found yesterday.


Do you think I am ready or will Ueber Meph eat me for lunch?

Do I need more life / crushing blow / resistances /

Smite damage / levels / anything else?

Am I missing something else?

My smiter was weaker but did uber easily

You dont need attack rating because

Smite hits everytime, so you dont need angelics. And life leech dont work with

Smite either so you should propably use loh. And i would propably use Spirit in mainhand too instead of your blue shield. Also you should make a Black runeword for your weapon, you need more cb.

Yeah, you're way past the minimum entry point. Should be perfectly fine.

Personally, I still believe that

Guardian Angel is just unnecessary overkill. The only time you really need a lot of res is

Mephisto but even for him, 75 is perfectly sufficient. Plus to get those 75 against him, you'd need 300 all res, thanks to the

Conviction (or your own

Conviction to counter). While that's perfectly doable, to hit 90 and make use of GA, you're at 315 or 320 even for your 95 max res. That's..also doable I guess but at that point you really tend to go out of your way to make it happen.

That's a good point! I wasn't sure if I need +AR to be able to consistently use

Zeal to clears mobs on my way to the bosses. In that case I go for something else.

Wisp Projector maybe? I have no Maras or High Lords yet.

I suspected that this could be the case. I was thinking about trading a

Pul for a mid range

Heaven's Light to compensate.

Lightsabre was my choice because I read that

Mephisto is really nasty.

Your maths make sense. Maybe I should have waited to put an

Um into it . On the other hand I'm currently lacking alternatives. I could also go with

Duriel's Shell or a Lionheart. Fortitude and Chains of Honor is out of reach.

I will! I am very excited and keen on doing it but guess I will wait until the weekend comes.

You don't need more CB. Not sure why someone thinks 60% at 6 frames is too low, but that isn't true. Also, your ring/ammy combo is fine. It's not like you need those slots for something you don't already have.

Indeed, Guardian is a tad overkill. Like many others, I prefer Smoke for being always reliable and super cheap.

Alright, I guess having a higher chance can be beneficial but I understand it isn't mandatory in my case.
I might get a

Heaven's Light anyway to experiment a bit with it.

If you can do Ubers, you can easily do DClone. Just a question of how often we end up even seeing him come 2.4. ^^
