Description

If I want to turn my auradin into a fist of heavens build with
Conviction
would it still work to run Dream
Helm
and shield to get the
Holy Shock
aura. Swap Dragon and hoj for Enigma and
Hand of Blessed Light
? I would need to use Trang gloves and arachnids along with 2 fcr rings/amulet to hit the 75 fcr breakpoint.

I play mostly solo pvm.

Can be used to make Runewords:

Kind of. There's nothing in your build that would "turn off" the aura from your Dream. The one problem you would run into however is that if you want to run full FoH with a maxed
Conviction
, you won't have enough skill points to also max the synergies for your Dream auras.

What you could do, to solve that, is to not actually get
Holy Shock
yourself. That would mean you don't get the shock as a synergy to your FoH but honestly, FoH (especially post-patch) is more about the bolt than the lightning damage anyways. So you'd end up with max FoH + Bolt,
Conviction
and the synergies for your Dream. You'd be able to max all of that at lvl 99 exactly. You would miss out on
Holy Shield
as well though.

The main question is probably not so much "does it work?" but "does it make sense?". If you play in areas filled with demons/undead, come 2.4, FoH is so strong that you honestly won't see much (if any) of a difference by also wearing Dream. You will however get stuck and depressed in areas that aren't just filled with Undead or Demons. Cow level is a perfect example of that...you can clear CS in record time but once you get to cows, it just gets sad. So for those, having something like a double Dream aura to roast them would be quite handy but the question is then how often you actually play in those areas, knowing that your actual build is very much tailored against it.

Could actually be a nice idea though, just to add places like the cow level to areas you can clear quickly enough. Having
Holy Shock
yourself honestly doesn't change much in that because even with it maxed, FoH is still just single-target against those mobs where you would need the lightning damage, meaning it will always still take forever to clear. But double Dream with conv...that's an actual solution to that problem!

I'd use HotO (+arach +
Magefist
) over hand though. Mainly because you then don't need FCR rings. HotO + 2x Bul/SoJ does give you 1 more point in FoH than Hand + FCR rings would, not to mention the far superior other stats (res, ..).

Hmm, right now I'm running auradin with maxxed synergies to fire and lightning along with some points into
Zeal
. You only need 24 pts into
Conviction
before BO/BC to get to -150. I would think with +3 torch, +1 anni, +2 Enigma, +2 ammy, +2 Sojs, +3 hoto you would only realistically need 13 hard pts into
Conviction
saving more to put into FOH synergies, and get one pt. into
Holy Shield

I don't play cows much... the mooing bugs me :) I was hoping running double Dream would help with clear speed in areas that had less demons and undead. Currently have cookie cutter HDin and an auradin, getting bored of both so I wanted to try mashing them together and see what i could do.

I was considering using
Hand of Blessed Light
with a 5/5 light facet just to pump up the damage a little bit, but your probably right to go with the hoto, I think i would only lose 1 pt overall to FOH and gain an extra pt for
Conviction
that I can use elsewhere in a synergy.

Maxroll.gg has an excellent D2 character planner that can help you build out and "simulate" various builds.

If you make a FoH paladin, just please don't call him "my foher".

My paladin is named Ares....but probably should have named him Zeus :)
