Description

So I’ve been playing a blizzard sorc since launch and I’m starting to get kinda bored with her, and thinking about a new build. I was curious about other builds out there that ppl find fun. Looking for something fairly budget friendly, I have some runes to spend, but not a lot. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Frenzy
barb would be my reccomendation.

I started as a throwing barb too which was fun. Not great for endgame damage though.

But you can kill
Nihlathak
, trav on a budget.

Chaos too if you
Shout
and
Leap
your way around.

Blizzard sorc was my first character. But I have found waaay more stuff with the
Frenzy
barb. (3
Ber
runes :) )

Use the
Shout
so you dont get surrounded, hunt champion packs and hork their bodies with
Find Item
.

My favorite character. Run fast so you don't need Enigma.

Lionheart armor, gimmersheds and lacerators can get you through most content.

Then once you get geared, you can do ubers.

...my opinion..

-Worth price charged

I second that. Got the runes for Enigma and 2 SOJs with a
Frenzy
barb horking trav.

Had a Dream about getting a
Lo
, and all I found today was a
Wisp Projector

Well what's "fun" to you Banjo? Doing dmg from a distance or up close? Pets or no Pets? Something more of a challenge or something super easy? I personally love to play pretty much every class and build with a few favorites like Javazon, Windy and Summon druids.

Also with patch 2.4 dropping there are A LOT of changes to every class skills as well as mercenaries so a lot more different build will become viable. :D

Pets sound fun, but I’m not super knowledgeable as to what is viable. I know necromancies skelly mages suck, but that’s about it lol. Also something that can just tank damage with little worry sounds cool.

Well the
Valkyrie
for the Amazon can tank anything in the game, even hell
Baal
once like lvl 17 i think. The
Shadow Master
at high level is also really useful for a Trapsin. My personal favorite is the wolf or bear + summon druid. So you get a bit of melee action but also with pets as support. For
Werewolf
you go Fury for high extra damage and
Werebear
you go mostly maul with some shockwave to
Stun
everything.

And patch 2.4 is going to make
Skeleton
mages viable along with better golems too. so exciting! :D

I would take a look on tier list here (including some builds and tips): https://d2.maxroll.gg/tierlists/overall-tier-list

So I have started with blizz sorc, like probably most of us. Next choices were characters that I was able to gear up with my drops to make them viable.

Next to the smitter for ubers my choice was Javazone as I have found
Griffon's Eye
and
Eth
Titan's Revenge
(was pretty lucky tho). With my Javazone drops was able to make my Enigma and it opened a lot other choices for me. Javazone got me bored after few days while at the beginning I was pretty sure it is the coolest build I have ever played! (got bored probably because I was to lazy to wait for replanish/repair my Titan's)

Next choices were Hammerdin and Zerker, Zerker got me bored in an hour or even less, I prefer AOE classes much better then single target. Hammerdin although was my favourite build since I was playing d2 over 10 years ago and still seems to be top 1 for me (not clean AOE but if you learn how to play it is fun), without Enigma you can crush
Travincal
runs pretty quick. With sufficient gear you don't need lots of res charms as gear stucks up pretty much of it and you can fill him in with mf charms, so now I got around 500mf there which is cool and still in full control of a lot of farming places!

Last choice was
Poison Nova
Necro, pretty cool too, rocks cows and pits along with Javazone but pretty sure without
Death's Web
it is not that fun. Unfortunately got bored pretty quick as well.

So after all character I was playing got back to my hammerdin and having a lot of fun :) hope you can get something out of it and good luck with Brand new char :)

To be fair, skele mages are already pretty viable, you just have to micro-manage the hell out of them. The FIre & Lightning mages are pretty decent, but the poison are completely useless & should be unsummoned immediately, & the Cold are less than desirable for the shatter effect alone(but dmg is a little lower too).

If they brought Poison Mages up to the level of Fire & Lightning they would be in a decent place in my experience.
