Description

My lightning sorc is getting ready to go to lvl 31. When she does, I'm going swap out her off hand
Umbral Disk
for a
Moser's Blessed Circle
.

My off hand weapon is a +ED, +AR, 6% life steal, increased stack size, replenishes quantity
Battle Dart
. I want to socket two +ED jewels in the shield to help off set the lower power damage of the weapon. It struck me that I can't recall seeing +ED on a shield.

Would this increase the damage of a thrown
Dagger
?

That's...a fascinating question. So much to unwrap here! :D

First off:
+ED does exist on base shields but that is only true for paladin shields, not other shields. So in your case, that's irrelevant. It does exist as a core stat on certain specific shields as well though. Phoenix for example.

Secondly:
Yes, +ED jewels socketed in should increase your throwing damage, same as they would mostly any other phys/weapon damage.

Thirdly:
I'm genuinely curious. Are you intentially creating a hybrid physical/lightning sorc or is your
Dagger
just a necessary evil because you can't make lightning work full time yet? In the latter case, you might be better served looking for pieces that help with low to mid lvl caster issues, meaning pieces that add mana/energy and/or mana regen so you can actually keep casting without running out of mana and/or pieces with +skills to increase your lightning dmg.

OP
It's intentional. I don't play "perfect" characters. All my characters have restrictions when I start them. Her name is Cynth. She is also allergic to health and mana potions so she can't use them. I find it makes the game more fun/challenging that way.

I like it - that's pretty creative way to play.

If you ever need more restrictions just add HC into the mix -- I only suggest this because at least you can have a beginning and end to the story of each character's life if you chose to. Or you can just fake it and decide if a SC Death ended their life or not.

I never thought of HC. I think I'd be too invested in the character to have it end like that. I guess I'm just an old softy.

Love it! Had the same reasoning for a few of my builds back in the day.
Though for me, the first of each class remains "perfect" (for my purposes/playstyle at least, not if one were to blindly trust silly guides).

if you wanna try throwing at the same time then put more points in
Enchant
is a good idea lol

LOL, it is so fun if you cannot keep the shield.
