Can be used to make Runewords:

Since I opened a new post and Mr. Teebling rightfully redirected me here... I have a question for yall since I see you are on point with something I had idea about for some time now (well mainly during my break from D2R)...

I would like to make several thematic characters all dressed up in different singular colors and still work on retaining their 'usability'. What does this mean, well if not being able to make them viable to finish the entire game on p1 at least to make them viable to do lower difficulties (no matter how hard or how slow that may take).

Lemme copy a part of my post uh-huh:
"I just founded out that
Boots
can be colored green if they have 31%+ pRes, however I don't know if that is also true when there are other high rolls (for example another res that's over 31%)... Does anyone knows how coloring works?"

After that, only things that are left are acquiring and looking around/gambling for specific BiS gear and going through with 2 projects:

1) Make characters that will look green, red, blue, yellow/gold, brown/beige, black, pink(?)

2) Make characters that will be themed at those colors with all of their (possible) items in their inventory being of appropriate color

Ofc, you see, this will require me to choose which exact color to use on which class because some of the classes look better in particular color while others are more suitable for specific color by the skills they are utilizing (purple would be questionable to apply/connect to any specific skill/theme huh?)... For example -- having a full red character using a fire exclusive skills or having full yellow character playing around with lightning, etc.

What I gathered so far is that blue and black looks awesome on Paladin. Green matches Assassin's and Sorceress' natural looks and white being nice all-rounder (although I would personally say that Necro excels in this color magnificently) . Black can also work with Assassin and I'm guessing red could be correct choice for the Amazon (since she is orange-ish by default).

Example: A Bone Necro that is half summoner (only skelis) and half
Bone Wall
/
Bone Prison
/
Bone Armor
but he wears a
Grim Wand
that has White in it... And he can also wear like full Sigon's set. How effective would he be aka how far could he go, I dunno, but it would be like all white themed! :D

P.S. Green Goblin looks amazing! However, it wouldn't work enough for me since I would like to make that character incorporated with Poison as well...

Edit: Would like to know what do you guys think about this? And ofc any suggestions are more than welcome! :)

The easiest way to make colorful chars is to add gems. The first gem in a socketed item defines the color of that object.
Only weapons, shield, body armor and head piece effect the visual of a char. Amu, ring, gloves,
Boots
, and
Belt
are not visible.

All my mules wear colored gear (I usually just pop a chipped gem in a 1-socket item).

There are also some affixes which add color. There is a really nice looking red which looks much better than the rusty look you get from rubies.

And there are uniques and set items with unique skins, e.g.
Biggin's Bonnet
(unique skin) or
Shaftstop
(Ama looks so hot in Black!).

I made many choices where I prioritized style over function while keeping my chars viable. If you want, I can show you some builds. My Fire and
Nova
sorcs look very different from each other.

Whenever I make an armor runeword, I first check the appearance guide. I enjoy the game just much more if I like how my char looks.

Thanks vued! Yeah, I was (and still am) unsure what are all the non colored gear that are actually colored when you put them on... Need to investigate that more :)

Sooo, just to be clear, only pRes adds green color and for example fRes doesn't add red the same?

So who is going to make the Red Spiderman build?
I just thought of something... What about red Flash (Paladin with
Charge
)? 🤔

This might be helpful:

It’s a color guide, for magic/rare item affixes and what colors they provide.

EDIT: This might also help;

Driven by aesthetics only, the Green Goblin (with Templars) build now looks like this:

For reference, this is the slightly different look with
Leviathan
:

Another piece of gear was non-negotiable. I never had more reason to kill
Nihlathak
than on the day I made these
Boots

And here he is!

My maaaan! I have founded something for you, if you are interested and in need I will gladly give it to you, for Green Goblin ofc and so you can give that atrocious Vamp Gaze to someone else xd
However, I don't know if it will break the immersion of Goblin mask look :(

GREEN! 😱

Well,
Vampire Gaze
was the driving force behind Green Goblin, so I'm not sure. But it would love to try it out!
