Tesladin: some questions

Hello community,

I read that gear which increases generic skills (like anni, arach,

Shako and so on) would increase the damage of the

Holy Shock aura granted by Dream word. But how is that possible? Soft points shouldn't give synergies bonuses (via lightning resistance and

Salvation in this case), and afaik the two lvl 15

Holy Shock auras from

Helm and shield stack, but can't benefit from the +skills from equip.
So what am i missing here?

I don't think you're missing anything, really. The only way to increase the level of your Dream

Holy Shock aura would be to use other items, granting the same skill. No +all skills / +paladin skills items will increase the level of

Holy Shock, granted by your Dream.

As a quick example, wearing 2 Dream items will grant you a level 30

Holy Shock aura (2x 15), which can not be increased further by using an

Annihilus or a Paladin

Hellfire Torch.

The only way to increase the damage output of the aura would be to put hard skill points into its synergies.

Holy Shock. Maybe there's some unique that i don't know (even if i hardly doubt it would be worth to equip), because i.e. a

Scepter with automod +3 to

Holy Shock would add those soft points on the tree skills but not on the aura granted by Dream, so crafting a decent word in it to use as weapon would not give any real bonus to the Dream aura.

I don't think so, no.

I don't understand the issue here.
Level 30

Holy Shock is strong and you have Grief to kill any lightning immu monster.

no issue at all, originally the question was about something i read saying +skill equip would have augmented

Holy Shock dmg and couldn't get how. Then just generic questions, for general knowledge

+skill equip doesn't.

There isn't.

And the +skill bit may have been a misunderstanding. A tesladin will regularly opt for a

Conviction aura to increase the

Holy Shock dmg. If that aura -res isn't yet capped then further +skill will increase the

Conviction level, in turn increasing the -res, in turn increasing the dmg from dreams/

Holy Shock against mobs with more res than your current -res in.

But yeah, apart from that +skill does nothing for item based auras.
