Can be used to make Runewords:
A little correction... Valkyrie Wing does not have IAS... it has FHR and FRW
That said, I used it before Griffon's Eye

Thanks for this, I misremembered the FHR for IAS for some odd reason. Still good though.fredkid wrote: 4 months ago A little correction... Valkyrie Wing does not have IAS... it has FHR and FRW

For the Boots, if you are short of mana, do remember that Silkweave exist. They are definitely cool for such uses.

Hmm, not sure, because your setup should be overkill for p1, unless you don't have Infinity on your merc or something. The next tier of damage is facets in your shield and armor, as someone else commented. I don't have experience with that, but sounds like a fun project. Otherwise, it could be some sort of technique thing, like not clumping the cows to maximize Lightning Fury, or chasing individual cows too much, or something else like thatBlindfire187 wrote: 4 months ago ...Overall I just feel kind of slow in clear times especially solo...and when I do play group games it seems others are clearing super fast or I'm having a hard time keeping up.
I don't use merc,but this char.I use rogue,any advice or critics?

Sorry maybe I am misunderstanding. You don't use a Merc on you Javazon or are you using a Rogue Merc on your javazon?
For javazon I would 100% use an Act 2 mercenary that uses the Might Aura. Might will give a small amount of a damage boost but the main draw here is putting the Infinity runeword on the Merc which gives the Conviction aura to lower enemy lightning resistsances. This will give WAY more of a damage boost than running any of the other mercenaries. Generally the other mercenaries are good for characters that doe more physical damage and you are able to put a runeword on them that gives a physical damage boosting auro on them as well. Still I think most of the time Act 2 mercs are usually best since you can have 2 auras to add to damage but some people just like using one of the other mercs.
But I digress, as stated, for javazon Act 2 Mercenary with with might and an Infinity runeword equipped is almost necessary. I would use the Rogue merc on something like a Barbarian, kicksin, Bowazon, Zeal Paly, or some other physical DPS character if you want to use that rogue merc setup.

- Act 2 with The Reaper's Toll, Pride or Infinity ( Conviction reduces defense, so increase your chance to hit a lot), plus natural Might
- Act 1 with Faith (if IAS is very relevant)
- Act 5 with Lawbringer and/or Last Wish
Elemental builds go:
Act 2 with Infinity
unless they self use Infinity (like Nova Sorceress, Lightning Strike Amazon) or use Poison/Magic...

Exactly this, but I'd like to add. Merc's will die unless they are properly geared, especially on hell difficulty. You might want to look up what good gear would be for a Mercenary and try to get your hands on those. As a point of reference, except in some cases the optimal setup for the Helm and Armor on a mercenarty will be Fortitude armor and Andariel's Visage for the Helm, and both being Etheral since durability doesn't degrade on Merc. But other options that are good for the Helm would include Vampire Gaze or something with Life Leech, or maybe a Guillaume's Face. As for Armor options, Ethereal Fortitude is best but other options would be Chains of Honor, or Treachery. Everything on a Mercenary should be Ethereal if possible as it boosts damage/defense and durability does not degrade on mercenaries.fredkid wrote: 4 months agoPhysical attack builds in general use:Manowar wrote: 4 months ago I've never used merc for my main char barbarian.this is for javazon,I tried barmerc it died like a fly,but haven't tried act 2 yet,but I will.Just letting javazon finish the game right now, then restart all the skills and gonna ask u about the skills then Ty.

Just curious, what kind of build is your Barbarian and what do you use him for? I don't use a mercenary on my barbarian but he is pretty much just a Berserker (HORK) Barbarian primarily for clearing Travincal and my Merc usually dies there, otherwise I would probably also use a Mercenary

On the defensive approach, some people use Shaftstop on Merc too (generally paired with Vampire Gaze)
And for Act 5 Merc, may use full Sazabi's Grand Tribute (and an aura/curse sword on the other hand)

But the most used Merc setup ( Andariel's Visage + Fortitude) gives a boost to offense and defense and is enough for Merc to survive (except against Ubers...)

What skills are you using though? There are a few different builds for the Barbarian based on what skills you are focusing on and what tasks you want them to perform.Manowar wrote: 4 months ago Thundergod's Vigor , Crescent Moon , Dwarf Star , Bul-Kathos' Wedding Band
For instance, my build uses Berserk as it's primary (sole) attacking skill, and his focus is to kill Travincal in act 3 or sometimes to run the Pit. His setup is used for finding High Runes, Charms, and sometimes MFing. My gear consists of Arreat's Face with a Cham rune in it, Grief Phase Blade, Enigma, Highlord's Wrath, Laying of Hands, Verdungo's Hearty Cord, Gore Rider, Dwarf Star, and a 10% FCR ring. (Also have Annihilus, Gheed's Fortune, and Hellfire Torch). As for offhand you can use whatever since Berserk only attacks from the main hand, I use the Blade Of Ali Baba with 2 Lem runes in it and then on my switch I use 2 Crystal Sword with 6 Ist runes in each of them for extra MF. After Travincal is dead I'll switch to the 2 Crystal Swords and then use Find Item on their dead bodies to get a 2nd set of drops, it's almost like doing 2 runs at once.
This website https://maxroll.gg/d2/guides/lightning- ... azon-guide might help you look at builds to determine what skills and gear to aim for. It also has "tier lists" which are decent but pretty much all builds on there are viable for at least solo play. These guides are Basic setups and may not be the absolute 100% best way to run a particular build but they do give a very good starting point and gearing options.

Switch contains Grief and Stormshield and for the mf I use whole immortal set up full with Ist and take a pit run.On the otherhand high rune drop doesn't have connection with mf,it's about game luck and kill speed

Yea, the MF I have on switch is mainly for when Travincal is a Tzone. I actually rarely run pits with my zerker.Manowar wrote: 4 months ago Switch contains Grief and Stormshield and for the mf I use whole immortal set up full with Ist and take a pit run.On the otherhand high rune drop doesn't have connection with mf,it's about game luck and kill speed
