The Rising Sun

With the new D2R Patch 2.4 balance changes on the way, bringing with it many buffs to Fire Skills across the board, this could be a great alternative amulet to have. Combining this with the likes of the new Runeword Flickering Flame (which having Resist Fire aura, will likely prevent any fire damage to you at all) and other fire skill boosting equipment, you will output incredible fire damage, especially in areas without fire immune enemies like Stony Tomb Level 1 (which is being raised to a level 85 area).
You don’t necessarily want to pair this with high fire resist for areas like Travincal . Fire absorb will convert a certain amount of fire damage taken into healing instead, but if your fire resist is too high you won’t take enough fire damage to convert into heals. Running this with like 10% fire resist on my horker for hell Trav runs and every Hydra shot is basically a Minor Healing Potion.
Diablo's minions were healing me while I was fighting against him.
Solid choice for HC character.
I can stay surrounded by Pit Lord without fighting.

Besides the Fire Spells of the Sorceress the following skills benefit from +x To Fire Skills

The remarkably high Fire Absorb found on this Amulet is an effective - if unconventional - means of mitigating the penalty imposed by Flame Rift. Given that the character is already seeking to sunder Fire Immunity, the +2 to Fire Skills The Rising Sun provides is almost guaranteed to be welcome in such a use case.
