Depending on Attack Ratting of the minions and/or defense from the enemies the -% defense have a huge impact...
With Necromancer, I did some calculations once on maxroll, and the -% defense from Infinity's Conviction added more to my total overall damage than Pride's Concentration or Beast's Fanaticism 🤔🧮🤓

You mean Conviction Aura I'm assuming. If I were running a fire warlock thats what I'd go for. Conviction + Lightning Enchanted ideally.
Yes, I keep forgetting the Conviction aura name as I never have it in runeword, too expensive.
Im running Echoing Strike though, I understand that the fire would especially gain from Conviction but wouldnt of have thought it to be this useful even on the Echoing Strike build.
For example there are sometimes immune to physical enemies which wont break their immunity with the curse alone; but adding the Conviction and surprise surprise, its gone.
Strange, because supposedly Conviction doesnt touch enemy damage resist, only fire+lightning+cold res & defense rating. You sure its not Amp Dmg curse + Sigil Lethargy combined perhaps? Sigil Lethargy has about -28-30% enemy damage resist (similar to decrep with its slowing effect too) .

Yeah, I could see how that would work. But purely from game mechanic standpoint it shouldn't remove their physical immunity.

Yep
Conviction don't remove Physical immunity (or even affect Physical resistance)👍
Just make easier to hit...

Perhaps its the reduce of def? I dont really know why it does that. A bug perhaps? I mean it shouldnt affect much of anything but the resists and def but im happy it removes immunity from time to time :'d
It could be the sigil and amp curse, I really dont know for sure. Usually its exactly been when I have already the sigil there, its got the curse on but its still immune to physical. It happen rarely, but does happen from time to time.

Conviction does not help an Echoing Strike build. As was said, Conviction does not break or lower Physical resistance and Echoing Strike always hits, so there is no need for defense reduction.
The meta for Echoing Strike afaik is a fast-hitting Cursed (= applying Amplify Damage with each hit) Demon with either Fanaticism or Holy Freeze/ Holy Shock/ Holy Fire for regular Amplify Damage proc.

I just want to throw in a suggestion in case you are interested.

Try finding one with Holy Fire, freeze or lightning along with cursed instead. For sure you'll lose a little bit of numbers on your stat page but it pales in comparison to how strong aoe amp proc is. Each time the aura ticks, it'll curse every enemy it hits, this effectively means you will be doing double damage to everything on top of deadly strikes and what not.

Fana only really benefits your demon and merc and also required your demon to physically hit things to proc amp damage in a small area. The aoe aura is a big upgrade to this.
A fana Heph already reliably insta-curses the entire screen. So the only real difference with Holy Fire/shock is that you're giving up a rather noticeable damage boost for him, your merc, and yourself (depending on your build) for an unnoticeably weak dmg aura and no real other benefit. Holy Freeze, yes, that has its uses, depending on your build and preference.
Afaik Fana Heph still has to bonk things but I can't recall exactly if it was screen wide. I may have not saw it properly then.

From my couple of testings with Fana vs holy auras, while Fana is definitely beneficial via dmg%, I ended up concluding holy aura edging a bit on top soley due to auto proccing amp while I'm teleing around. This eliminated the need to wait for it to hit things, albeit it's fast due to innate modifiers, maybe I'll have to run it again to triple check.

Edit: Oh ya, also wanted to point out and confirm that demons binded from +skills for the higher Bind Demon levels are screenshotted and persists. I'm also like 98% certain this also screenshots Blood Oath. Meaning you maintain the % dmg mitigation of whatever the level was at the time of binding.
Two months after this comment, is this still the going theory with how bound demons work? I've read elsewhere that they carry the base stats/level/aura/health from time of binding into each game (i.e., their "snapshot") but that when they spawn in each new game they get a second "snapshot" based on your skills like Bind Demon level and (maybe) Blood Oath and demon mastery level.

So, is their damage set at time of binding or at the start of each new game?

Damage, life and effects of you skills are not easy to verify (to determine if they are "recast"/"rerolled" at the beginning of the game - like Iron Golem - or snapshotted at the moment of the bind)

But I know that the monster level is snapshotted and you can verify the level of the monster if it has an aura that gives you some bonus that affects your visible status ;-)

I was at L82 when I bound a regular Vile Mother in a L96 Cursed TZ, and it gains Fanaticism as its aura ( Bind Demon was 20+)
(this happened end of march)

its Fanaticism gives me +95% ar, so it is L12
And to have Fanaticism L12 the monster have to have at least L96 (96/8=12)
