Boots can prove very useful for sorc builds relyin heavily on
Energy Shield, especially combined with other mana-increasing items like Stone of Jordan,
Frostburn or
Gloom's Trap. This bonus also synergies with mana after kill very well, effectively providing such a sorc with more survivability than other popular footwear with extra stats/life/resists/mf/whatever.
