Does Mercenary's Venom shorten my Poison Nova duration?

Say my mercenary has Treachery equipped and the Venom skill it grants, is procced. If my mercenary applies Venom to an enemy already recently affected by my

Poison Nova, will the duration of

Poison Nova be reduced to the length Venom takes effect? What about other characters using Venom?

The reason I ask, is that I read on basin, that poison length is reduced when Venom is used to 0.4 seconds, but it isn't clear if this happens when Venom is applied by allies.

I had a look at the poison damage page on amazon basin. It looks like Venom, from any source, would overwrite

Poison Nova since its bit rate is higher. That means any enemy affected by

Poison Nova and

Nova, will only take damage from the former for the duration of Venom.
