Description

I've got a lvl 98 phys bowa and I'm working toward getting to 99. My question is what is more efficient for experience. Running low density TZ areas like
Cold Plains
for example or running non TZ Chaos/Tombs.

Simply put when should I run TZ zones over non TZ Chaos/Tombs?

Always accepting
Worusk's End
and
Korlic's Pain
statues for trades. Also accept keys for trades.

It's a great Q and I think the asterisk I would add is the ability to terrorize an entire act with shards. One item I'd also add is players count matters a lot for gaining experience. Are you playing offline or online?

At level 98, non-TZ tombs will grant almost no exp.
TZ is always better than non-TZ, by far. High density TZ, especially Tombs, Chaos and WSK , are best

apparently by lvl 96 TZ
Blood Moor
gives more exp than non-TZ WSK

so TZ all the way

Is there any difference between monsters across tz acts - say tz Act 1 carvers vs tz Act 5 vipers?

looks like kill speed has an influence on how much exp you gain as well
atleast thats how it looks playing with the warlock
never seen such fast leveling

stay a while and listen to the corpses explode

Sure, each monster has their own predetermined XP amount. Hence why some areas are better for XP than others.

You can use Pavke's Experience Calculator to compare areas to one another -

I'm in CET (Central European Time)
My profile says Ladder, but I play both Ladder and Non-Ladder.
My profile says Softcore, but I play both Softcore and Hardcore.
My Holy Grail Tracker is for Offline Hardcore.

Exactly. When you kill faster in a certain amount of time (than before with a different char), you gain more exp, of course.
But every monster has its own fixed exp. This is then modified by the area level in regards to your character level, your level penalty and by items like Ancient jewels and
Annihilus
.
You do not get more exp per monster when you are fast, you just kill more monsters.
