In my experience, this xbow is highly underrated compared to Buriza, even though the Buriza is more famous, this xbow is imo the better elemental weapon, as the exploding

Bolts have an AoE radius in addition to the piercing effect. The Aoe range is short, but is great for highly clustered groups of enemies, which often happens in tight, enclosed maps such as tunnels. This xbow will rekt anything in NM, and some builds can actually make it Hell difficulty viable (with proper supporting gear). I use one of these on a bowazon as a swap weapon to deal with physical immunes, mainly Wraiths, and although it's not a perfect solution, it works. Also, unless your build can get up to 140+ STR, do not up these to elite. Most players keep these as exceptionals since they are mainly used for the exploding

Bolts.

D2R 2.6 made this weapon into a viable p8 build for an

Enchant sorceress thanks to

Fire Mastery now applying not only to

Enchant skill but to ranged fire damage you deal when already enchanted, essentially "double dipping". Previously only melee weapons worked this way.
On top, explosive bolts carry the fire damage per hit and again per explosion, essentially "quadruple dipping".
