Description

Ethereal Edge has the interesting quiry of always being both ethereal and indestructible. However, its enhanced damage values are lower than other Elite-quality uniques and runewords, meaning the inherent damage boost that comes with ethereal weapons is somewhat wasted. This weapon lacks life leech, mana leech, and crushing blow. As a result, it leaves a number of blind spots that must be compensated for with other gear. All in all, while it is an interesting concept, indestructible ethereal weapons are better executed by runewords such as Death or Breath of the Dying.

This weapon is better than its reputation. Shapeshifter druids can make good use of it. With the introduction of the Protector's Stone jewel in the RoW you can upgrade this indestructable weapon immensely.The Ethereal Edge socketed with a Protecor's Stone jewel is endgame viable for low player counts. It is a little bit better than an ethereal Windhammer in comparision. Below is an example of an Ethereal Edge socketed with a Protector's Stone jewel.
