Im working on a smiter Pala, and I just found Schaefer's Hammer from Baal..
Back than, that weapon was the best there is for a zealer Pala, but is it usefull now?
Can I use it on Ubers?
The bonus for lightning resis and Static Field on hit would be lovely, when you think about it.

Can be used to make Runewords:
The hammer is decent by itself - and for ubers, i'd suggest you need also some crush+prevent healing on other gear. Then - yes, you can go for it.
I don't think Static Field will proc if your smiting. I also have one but I don't use it mainly due to the strength req... Im using Heaven's Light for ubers and Lightsabre for trash.
As i know you cant Prevent the Hearing, cause of that you need the Chance for open wounds.

Basically as guides show:
Grief,
Upped zaka shield,
Duress armor,
Guill head,
Dracul gloves,
Thundergods Belt,
Gore Rider Boots,
Raven Frost ring,
Wisp protector ring,
Maras amulet,
Call To Arms and Spirit on switch.
Just a few lightning resis charms,
Torch
One very dead Merc.
I thought I'll need to go on lightning resis aura vs Mephisto but I stayed on fanta aura and went smooth

OP hasn't been online in 3 years.D369 wrote: 8 months agoAbsolutely you can use it! Schaefer's Hammer on swap with Exile is my BIS for a Smiter and secret ingredient. The Static Field procs within seconds and allows you to swap back to Grief or alt weapon swiftly. There is no real way to reduce the enemy life faster than this with other means and softens them up so well.
The beauty of the Exile combination is obvious but are Freezes Target + Defiance for extra protection while you proc, and the Offensive Aura to boost your Fanaticism/Attack Speed with a slower weapon base ( Legendary Mallet), and Life Tap allows you to reset the counter or proc it for the first time before you swap to main weapon.
My 100% advice is to add a Shael Rune in here immediately and don't try to get cute and put a Ber or IAS ED. IT NEEDS THE Shael to come alive.

I'm willing to accept other forms of currency. Like Tokens, Keys, Perfect Gems, and certain minor runes in lieu of my asking price. I'm also willing to accept rune combinations that add up to my asking price.
Yeah this was for anybody else coming across the post, but continued in conversational style just cause.
I love using it and think these kinds of things are Key to bring up if high Treasure Class items are worth using or good use can be found for them in a particular build.

Unless something's changed "prevent monster heal" doesn't work on Ubers, but open wounds works just fine.
