Description

I'm having a terribly hard time finding classic diablo trades. I look through the classic section, and I see hellfire torches, and trades for runes. Unless they are planning on drop trading across games, these sorts of trades shouldn't be possible.

I'd personally like to see expansion content impossible to post in the classic section, and a strong warning when posting a classic/hardcore trade: "You are posting a classic trade, would you like to continue?"

Can be used to make Runewords:

Improved on in patch 1.21 with clearer, animated warning block highlighting listing restrictions such as classic only, platform, ladder, hardcore etc.

If you offer what I am asking, add me on battle.net for a quicker trade. I'll see the notification instantly if I'm available.

OP
Am I really the only one who has this issue? The entire classic section is full of expansion items.. I haven't been able to find a single actual classic item for trade. I'd rather see a nearly empty section than impossible items.

I think this mostly comes from the profile settings.

You can check "what is your character" in your profile.

And then I guess many people select "Classic" as in "well I've been there since the beginning".

What they don't check is, that if you create a trade, some defaults are checked via your profile's setting. And if you want to brag about being there since Classic, it will check Classic as your trade setting.

So they, of course, play a default Expansion character, but upon creating a trade, their profile setting of Classic is being set. And then you'll see so many non-Classic items in the trade stuff.

Another example: You can check on which platform you are trading.

If you set your character's profile to PC/Windows, PC is being checked upon creating a trade. If you set it to Linux (which is also PC), nothing is being set.

People don't read. There's no amount of code I can write that will ever be able to contend with this behaviour in an efficient manner. But I hear you, it's annoying seeing people post expansion stuff in that section. Their loss I guess.
It clearly says it's a Classic, Non-Expansion trade up here ^ on this example listing. People have asked me to make this more 'visible' though, so I am adding some CSS animations to make it hard, even for the most inattentive visitors, to miss.
