any advice for dragon tail mosaic assassin?

I have been taking a break from my Mosaic sin for a bit. She's 93 and has very good gear. But the explosions are a bit too much for my eyes on the screen after a long time and I've only been using her to run ubers.
I still die almost every time i run ubers, but i always get the job done lol. I'm fairly certain it's just player skill though. I'm a bit slow

Anyway - I am looking to try to kill 2 birds with one Stone. I am wanting to move away from Griffon's Eye due to the aesthetics of it and put on a Bone Visage Flickering Flame (i love the way Bone helmets look) AND reduce eye strain from screen clutter due to some of the Mosaic builds.

It looks like you can go with a Flickering Flame Dragon Tail build, but seems to be quite a bit less effective damage wise and maybe buggy due to Dragon Tail lag? This may have been fixed but i see a lot of posts from 2+ years ago on various websites complaining about Dragon Tail lag.


Was curious if anyone had tried the standard Phoenix Strike, Claws of Thunder, Blades of Ice, Cobra Strike, Dragon Talon build AND also a Dragon Tail Tiger Strike build and could share their experience with me before i bought/farmed a token.

Haven't played D tail in D2R, but i had an Assa in D2X with it, and well, when there's no fire or physical immunities, she killed superfast even without using tigerstrike and could oneshot a lot of big groups with TS at 3.

The issue is how the area fire damage from it is based on how much physical damage you do to the target you kick.

If say, for absurdity's sake, you could have both amp damage and maxed Conviction aura active at the same time, the amount of damage you would do is astronomically high.

Went and tested on maxroll planner...
Uh, without using TS, and not even a finished build, i'm getting it to do 25-44 thousand fire explosion damage...

And with 3 charges of TS, it's 159-251 thousand fire dmg...
786 thousand per second...

Ok, with some basic trimmings, this build does 216-341 thousand with a single attack in fire explosion damage...

My old char didn't have all this gear, but when playing together with paladins running Conviction and Fanaticism, and a necro throwing around amp damage, this build isn't actually that far from my old build, and she was damn impressive when at her best. Everything just got mowed down, express speed.

i ended up with this so far, i still have some skill points left. it does excellent damage, but not nearly the massive aoe that Phoenix Strike does, however it was nice to see a Bone Visage helmet and running around with Burst of Speed and just kicking really fast and blowing up stuff without the assault on my eyes was nice
