No changes listed as expected, not even WASD movement. Seems it's indefinitely on hold.

While the snow remains,
veiled in the haze of evening,

In case anyone is wondering? It's 8:30 PM EDT/EST and there are already 663 players above level 90. That's barely 24 hours after it began.

Yeah, there's a reason why i don't even consider bothering with chasing for a toplist spot.

I mean sure, i once tested it on original D2X, 7 people cooperating during a ladder start, almost from the first minute, to absolutely maximize levelling.
IIRC, we still only got to level 89 or something with highest char before the first day was over. IIRC, i just got to 83 or so after several sucktastic deaths that couldn't be recovered(had to restart some games because multiple nasty bosspacks together blocking the way, and of course, i ended up being the one "finding" said pentuple bosspacks).
And that was almost entire day marathon playing and optimising the use of every little drop.

Just totally not worth the effort. No idea how the top players manage it.

I'm guessing, but I suspect a number of the top players get there using bots. Why play a non stop players 8 game to get to the top if you can get a computer to play it for you while you sleep?

That ladder tracker on d2emu that Hallsingland posted can actually be used to detect bots. If you query it on an interval you should be able to see which accounts are active 24/7 (continuously gaining xp).

I'm in CET (Central European Time), so that's UTC+1 normally and UTC+2 during DST.
My profile says Ladder, but I play both Ladder and Non-Ladder.
My profile says Softcore, but I play both Softcore and Hardcore.

Yeah, I thought of writing that lol. And well, account sharing is also technically against the EULA, as far as I know :P

There must be something happening in ladder 10? I thought I would jump on for a couple of minutes to see what's going on and what I go instead was an estimated 36 minute wait. I wonder how bots might react when met with an extended wait?

There were server issues around that time, possibly a ddos attack (saw a screenshot with a message in the launcher about that, but didn’t see it myself as I was asleep). Lots of people were getting disconnected and having trouble getting back in for a while.

A possible ddos attack seems likely since a ddos attack is essentially flooding a set of servers with more simultaneous connections than they can handle at once, which also explains the "bussy day" message in the image I posted above. An effective ddos is usually done with bots (botnet), or in this case Ladder season 10 bots slugging it out for top position and loot. :D

Well, based on the fact that he only had a 1 hour break from 1 to lvl 99, and had an insane amount of xp from every TZ, he made 90 427 948 xp in
Crystalline Passage
on lvl 98 in one hour (see info from the tracker i posted), I would not be suprised if it were a bot. Or hey, maybe it was a amphetamine fueled asian who really wanted to be numbero ono this season XD. Jokes aside, its a little bit suspicious to be honest.
