Greetings, fellow diablo2.io members! :)

I have a lot stuff that I've accumulated on Softcore Non-Ladder over the years, including a lot of things I've been given for the express purpose of turning into giveaways (yes, in other words, some people have dumped stuff on me :P), and it's time to make something with it.


The idea, is that you can design your own build with all of the available items.


I've put everything into a Maxroll Profile here:

To participate:
  1. Open the link
  2. Pick your class
  3. Assign items to gear slots & inventory
  4. Save the result as a new Profile (you don't need a Maxroll account to do this)
  5. Share the link to your build in here

Rules:
  • There are 15 total gear slots including the hireling, and you may fill them all. (16 if you use an Act 3 hireling or an Act 5
    Frenzy     hireling)
  • You are allowed to fill the inventory, but only with charms, and no more than 1 Sunder Charm.
  • Jewels like Rainbow Facets are allowed to be slotted into socketed items.
  • You may add sockets to items ("
    Larzuk    " them) that don't already have one to fit a Jewel if you'd like.
  • You may make at most one submission per person. (if you make a new submission, it will replace your old one)
  • You are allowed to participate even if you do not want the build for yourself - in that case, it will be raffled off to someone else instead via a random draw (lottery). Please make it clear if that's the case.
  • All builds are given one point for each gear slot assigned (inventory does not count). That's at most 15 or 16 points, depending on type of hireling used.
  • A build with more points will have a higher chance of being picked.
  • *NEW RULE starting with round #6*: Every participant gets a bonus to their gear score equal to the number of draws they've lost. Say someone has been part of the draw since the first round and not yet won after 5 rounds, they'd get a +5 bonus to their build's gear score. Compared to the base gear score it's only a small bonus but may tilt the favor slightly in favor of those who have been part of the draw for longer. Those who find this giveaway late are of course still welcome to join in on later rounds and will still have substantial a chance to win.
  • *NEW RULE starting with round #7*: You're not allowed to mix skiller charms from other classes than the one of the build. For example, a Paladin build can't use skillers for Sorceress. If you win a draw with skillers from other classes in your inventory you'll simply not be given those, only the ones that match your build's class.
  • *NEW RULE starting with round #15*: The participation bonus (described above) can no longer more than double your gear score.
Obviously, not everyone will be able to get exactly what they pick, and even though there are multiples of many items available, there will of course be situations where two builds use the same item.
So how will this work, exactly?
  • First, I will randomly pick a build from all submissions (builds with higher point totals have a bigger chance of being picked). The chosen build will be given away exactly as it is (either directly to the designer, or set aside for a raffle at a later point).
  • Next, all remaining builds stay in competition with the following rules:
    • You will have 48 hours to update your build in case items you used were already picked.
    • If you do not update your build yourself, an item that was already picked by the previous winner will be replaced by another item of the same type (must be exactly the same unique, rune word, etc). If there are no available replacements, that gear slot will be void (empty), and one point will be deducted from the build's score.
    • I will randomly pick a build from all remaining submissions (builds with higher point totals have a bigger chance of being picked). The chosen build will be given away exactly as it is (either directly to the designer, or set aside for a raffle at a later point).
    • Repeat until there are no more valid submissions.

Any person whose build is picked needs to respond in this thread within 48 hours after being picked or will be eliminated from the giveaway (and a new build will be picked instead). Keep an eye on this thread if you're interested! I will mention you in here and DM you if your build wins. Activate email notifications to be sure you don't miss it.


And most importantly, have fun!

(at least, I hope some of you will have fun with this!)


Oh, and if anything remains at the end, it will all be given away for free too. But (probably) without any special rules or anything, I'll likely just post them as free trades on here.

Just out of curiosity: How long did it take to put this together?

After a 20 year break from D2 I started playing D2R in 2024 with my sons (9 and 10 years old)
Time Zone: UTC/GMT +1/+2 (Germany)
Online workdays: casually from 07:00-09:00 pm
Online weekends: casually midday to evening
Non-Ladder | Softcore | Expansion

I suppose it took around 5-6 hours to add everything to the Maxroll Profile. And then an hour or two to plan it and write it up, I think.
It's all a disorganized mess btw, since a lot of it was dumped on me by people who no longer play SC NL and I just stuffed that into mules without trying to sort or organize it (when you're given several characters worth of items over a couple of minutes, you don't have much time to think).

Courtesy of @azeroti, I have added a bunch of torches, mostly Sorceress but also some other classes. :D I don't know if this will affect anyone who already submitted a build, but it means there will be more of those left over until later stages.

For the record, you may alter your build at any time - your last submission at the time of draw counts.

I'm in CET (Central European Time), so that's UTC+1 normally and UTC+2 during DST.
