Advice avenger holy fire paladin

Hello all

I am thinking of doing a mix of avenger Holy Fire paladin with the following equipment and skill tree

equipment;
Helm: Flickering Flame

Amulet: Highlord’s Wrath

weapon: Hand of Justice (in +3vengeance +3conviction Caduceus if i can find)

Switch Weapon: Call To Arms (in +3holy shield Scepter if i can find)

Shield: Dragon or maybe Phoenix Runeword not sure which would be the best might try both

Switch Shield: Spirit paladin shield

Body Armor: Dragon

Belt: String of Ears

Rings: Raven Frost / Crafted or rare Dual leech ring with other useful stats

Gloves: Dracul’s Grasp or Lava Gout i hesitate

Boots: Gore Rider

And use a Flame Rift

Merc: fire rogue from act1

Weapon : Faith (in 3skill grnad matron bow if i can find)
Body Armor: Ethereal Fortitude
Helm: Andariel's Visage Andariel's Visage socketed with a Ral Rune Ral Rune


Skill tree:
Combat Skill Tree:

1 point to Sacrifice
1 point to Zeal
20 points to Vengeance
1 point to Smite
1 point to Charge
1 point to Holy Bolt
1 point to Blessed Hammer
1 point to Holy Shield



Offensive Aura Skill Tree:

1 point to Might
1 point to Holy Fire
1 point to Thorns
1 point to Holy Freeze
1 point to Sanctuary
Enough points on Conviction for the Level25 Cap when geared



Defensive Aura Skill Tree:

20 points to Resist Fire
20 points to Resist Lightning
20 points to Resist Cold
Rest of the points to Salvation


Technically it seems viable Vengeance being a great single target damage and the 44lvl Holy Fire burning the packs around with the sundered fire immunity and the reduced fire resist from Flickering Flame

Still any ideas/opinions/advices on the viability of this build and possible improvements?

A friend of mine plays Avenger + Conviction, but not the Auradin part.

The only things he struggles with is big crowds like cows, while Ubers just go easy.

He solved this by using Zeal with more points but I guess Aura Fire could work as well.

Also 1 point in Holy Shield makes the max block hard to reach without investing a lot in dex - issue or not, your call.

Anyway just to say that you may not need to reach 20/20/20 in resist def auras if you need to pump up a bit Holy Shield. Keep them at even numbers though (like 12/12/8) for the max res passive bonus. Salvation one point should be enough.

you won't get level 44 Holy Fire, because you're using Phoenix. Phoenix will be better for physical damage while Dragon Shield to aoe I believe (raising your auras from 30 to 44, and giving you another aura- they stack so you'll actually get three 44 auras this way).
any 3os Helm with 3 perf fire facets beats flickering damagewise, but flickering does offset the sunder nicely. or just use LoH and/or aldur's if you want to use the 3os faceted.
I'm going to make an auradin and/or dragonadin soon, curios to hear about your experiene when you make this avenger Dragon.

I would nontheless max out Holy Fire. And do equip a HoJ for Zeal.
Also give yourself a Buff from Demon Limb.
Is funny to use Trag-Oul Gloves and Belt and Hydra Paladin Shield.

Using Phoenix shield instead of Dragon you deal 25% less damage vs sundered monster and 50% less damage vs non-immu monster (assuming you run with -150% Conviction & -15% Helm).

Finally reached level 80. The concept is fun it melts pretty much everything in p1. Able to do dclone relatively easily at level 67+.

Next i will try is tesladin avenger with a barb merc with dual Hand of Justice, Dragon armor and Flickering Flame Helm. Looks fun too.
