Could this have some use ? CTA maybe ?

No, most people use a

Crystal Sword for CTA, this has too high str requirement.

If you are playing a HammerDin with Enigma with

Archon Plate base, or your HammerDin equips

Thundergod's Vigor routinely, then this base could be used for CTA.
However, without +2 or +3

Concentration, your dps will likely be less than HOTO, so it will be more of an off-hand CTA instead a main-hand one.

What makes you think so? Bases with +3 BH and

Concentration are highly sought after, and are worth a lot. 5 OS for CTA, and 4 OS for Fortitude.

Because a trade was made doesn't means it actually works.
Maybe the buyer made the same mistake.

Testing things out is always a good idea.

I am just curious about what made you think it won't work in the first place. Is there a D2 mechanism that may have contributed to your doubt about it?

Because once swap to main-hand, you get +1skills from BC and not the +1skills from CTA.

I am kind of tired of Flails and Crystal Swords, it would be for my pala with

Phase Blade Grief in main hand, high str.req shouldn't be problem either : )

Concentration, Sanctuary,

Holy Shield, or Fist of Heaven, it won't be as valuable as the ones that do have those. At this late stage of D2R, people are mostly going for the GG items.

With only +3

Blessed Hammer, plus the 1 skill gain from CTA, its output will still be below HOTO, and you lose out on other useful skill points that HOTO adds.

But hey, just as you said, try your luck. Who knows, right? =)

The *correct* usage of this type of CTA is to equip it on the main-hand, permanently. It replaces HOTO.

For +3 BH & +3 Conc base, you will get +1 from CTA, and +1 from BC, so it's +5 BH and +5 Conc in total, which makes its dps better. You do

Sacrifice a bit defense from lower HS, which is the trade off.

For 4OS bases, it's another story. Those are for Fortitude, and provides a ton of defense.

Pally can easily get over 30k defense using a Fortitude like that, and can stand among the pack of

Lord De Seis yet feel safe and comfy.

yeah, forti for def and hoto for speed and damage.
