Internally, this Curse functions as off-weapon Enhanced Damage with a negative value. This has several repercussions.

First, the reduction in damage is limited to the same circumstances as those where off-weapon Enhanced Damage would be beneficial (i.e. the physical damage component of basic Attacks and skills derived therefrom).

Furthermore, most player characters affected by

Weaken will experience only a very minor decrease to their damage, as off-weapon Enhanced Damage values are typically quite high as a consequence of Skills and Attributes.

Relatedly,

Weaken will have a much less-noticeable effect on the physical damage of Aura Enchanted elite packs that have a Might or

Fanaticism aura.
