See the attached image. If the actual item data for some items could take up twice as much horizontal space and thus cut the vertical space in half, it'd remove a lot of dead space. It'd require stacking more of Description, Who is online, Quick comment, and Similar pages, but I think that's probably worth doing.

The grid layout is fluid and therefore it will always look a bit skewed on any device viewport, but has the benefit of being fully responsive. The whitespace will hopefully be filled by good user comments over the years to come.
If you prefer a more traditional layout, there's a button on the pages themselves called 'Superwide' - that'll expand the layout to a widescreeen tiling Pattern instead. Preference for this isn't cached yet but will be, so that you don't have to do it every time.
The superwide option leaves more dead space than the default view. I'm basically trying to suggest a solution to prevent needing to scroll to see information when only one column is very lengthy, like on the page I gave as an example. Not a big deal, just was my thought.
