i think i have the same experience as some of those guys with lots of jahs, just a truncated version. (SC NL version)

i basically found a pally combat with 42 lifer, and geared my first few chars with that. and it is a virtuous cycle of now that you are better geared, u kill faster and find more stuff to trade. that said, my only other notable finds were a Jah, a perf light Opalvein (recently) and a 20/5. that's it! but i found lots of decent skillers, Eth bases, etc. also, MF is pretty useless for Wealth creation, it is a chronicle tool (IMHO).

trading IS what allows Wealth to accumulate faster/easier - i do it for a living as well so for me philosophically the SSF route is unlikely. when you have more $$$ u can try different builds more easily. need a Stormshield to test a concept? just throw a Mal at it and someone will answer. cos you have Charsi-ed your own finds.

that said, getting the most OP char is not the way to get fun out of the game. my fav char is this glass cannon phy bowa, cos it can die to random shit quite easily and there is actually adrenaline. i could respec her into a Lightning Strike jabazon etc and it would be a lot less fun (depends on what you are looking for).
