Description
So I've officially decided to no longer help players slay bosses so they can traverse the game.
It always ends up with ungrateful players swiping up the drops while you do all the work and gloat about what great drops they got.
Now I'm under no illusion that they need to share the items but coming up and swiping and gloating is just that last middle finger and I'm done with it.
I am happy to help out struggling players and often drop items from my stash for them. /rant

Sorry, but I can't quite comprehend your frustration.
Normally the rushed players
gets the drops and the rusher gets a price that was agreed on, The Hellforge, an Ist/ Mal etc. So, they don't "swipe", they pick up "their" loot. Let them be happy about their drops. If you are jealous of their drops, you should either negotiate that you can pick up loot, too, or you do as you have said, just don't rush people if you don't want to help them.
By the way, how often does it happen that players find great items in the course of a (or several) short boss rushes? Not often. If you can negotiate a Mal or Ist as your payment, it will most likely be more valuable than the drops in most cases.

I've just been hopping around helping out when I can for nothing. I jumped into a normal Baal run game. After I got to the team at the Throne, everyone left a few seconds latter. I hope they didn't get disconnected. But I was baffled why they all left. I didn't want anything and I wasn't going to pick up a thing. Just wanted to help.
If I decide to help other guys, I leave drops to them, even if it's high runes.
I like to help for free since I was helped for free in the beginning, paying it forward so to speak. Plus, I like flexing on Ubers/Ancients now, so everybody wins
I am sometimes pissed off when teleporting to Baal to level up on waves. Folks who stay in the town start picking Rejuv potions. Buy I just say to them to stop and they stop. Sometimes folks uploading their pots for me to speed up next run.
And about drops -you should expect to get only part of it or none in full game. Normally someone is faster than me.

whats the benefit to playing in an open game where its a free for all on the drops opposed to your own game and all the loot for yourself
stay a while and listen to the corpses explode
will take offers of
rals
sols
tals
pamys
prubys
pskulls
Junk Jewels
pgems
on all items, unless otherwise noted

If this is what they do after you have agreed with them that the loot is to be shared, then I agree, this is very bad form on their part.Darkhold wrote: 19 hours agoSo I've officially decided to no longer help players slay bosses so they can traverse the game.

But, if this hasn't been agreed in advanced, then i would say it's not unreasonable or unexpected for the player of the game to claim the loot. After all, it is their game. Some players in this situation might offer you something at this stage, but many won't. Both host players and the helpers will all have different expectations, and sometimes help is for free, (and understood to be free) and sometimes help will cost them something (and understood as such).
Probably best to agree it in advance to avoid misunderstandings. Hope your next games are better.
Aards.
I provide my bnet details after I have accepted your offer/ you accept mine.
Flexible but mostly trade is UTC+1 evenings. Note timezone differences: several hours ahead of US / behind Asia. Prompt but don't expect instant. This ain't Traderie.

OP
I think you all misunderstand. I killed Andariel for them so with my 300mf and their quest bugged boss, 2 solid items dropped. I did this with zero expectations, didn't expect anything but having the player blurringly grab the loot and tp out and THEN gloat about the drops. That is my issue. I've often dropped good loot for starters without even a thanks.

Hey. Sorry to hear this, but i think i understand correctly. My point of view is just different.Darkhold wrote: 50 minutes agoI think you all misunderstand. You killed the boss for them (you helped them clear the boss). They took the loot. (You don't think this is right).
I still think that unless you agree beforehand, there is a big chance of a misunderstanding due to your expectation and theirs not matching up.
From one perspective, you are playing in their game. Your service that you offered them was to help them kill their boss monster. You do this
You are the helper here, but it is their game? Unless there was prior agreement for a reward, e.g. you keep all the loot, or half the loot, or you get a fixed reward like a Rune, then I don't think it is unreasonable for the player to keep the loot... sorry.

If there was a predetermined agreement beforehand and they blatantly ignored it, then that's poor etiquette on their part. If there were no established expectations as you claimed, then your grievances don't hold much weight I'm afraid.
Public games are the wild west, anything goes, player's generally do whatever they want whenever they want. If that's something you don't enjoy or agree with, avoid public games altogether and join a discord, find like-minded players to play with.
