If you're using Last Wish to fight Ubers yeah I'd just use that. Switching gear can be right annoying sometimes.

Faith in a GMB with a +2/14 roll. Horazon's Hold, Chains of Honor, Gface (with a Protector's Stone, once I got one), Verdungo's cord, Gore Rider, Atma's Scarab (to kill faster), Raven Frost, and a rare dual leach ring. Level 94, with some points in vit, but most in dex. I haven't made cta, so my life was just over 1200. For charms I have enough resistance to get 275% with Fade prebuffed from Treachery. The rest are +damage charms, a physical sunder with -resistance, a good anni, and a pretty good torch.ganseng wrote: 21 hours agocan you post your full gear and post-cta life on the strafezon pls? merc and valk probably die too fast to matter don't they?
Hypertarg wrote: 1 day agoMy most reliable uber ancient killer is my Strafe zon (it's my favorite build and I wanted to figure how to clear everything in game). I run CoH, Verdungo's, and prebuff Fade to live and the rest is offense. I hold down Strafe and lifesteal to live. It doesn't need pots and has just enough life to not get one shot, but Korlic always dies first, which is annoying for a physical build.
I then gave my Tesladin Exile and tried a non respec Smite build. It worked fine on the first attempt easily killing everything. After that, I would sometimes have a hard time. It really seemed to boil down to killing Talic before he started moving too much. Once he did ww, there were too many adds to reliably click on him and kill him before he healed. I eventually learned to just reset and try again. With Life Tap on Exile living wasn't an issue. I think it just boiled down to if CB proced enough early to get him low. I prebuffed Fade and geared him to live with as much CB as I could muster. With some tinkering it mostly works, but is not very exciting.
Pre-patch my valk would distract Taric for quite a while, now she is gone immediately. I stand between pillars south of the alter to be slightly less surrounded. My merc usually lives for 30 seconds or so, but is A1 and doesn't have any important gear. I hold down Strafe and hope to live until the first ancient goes down. I will get dangerously low on life for a moment, but leech it back. Once the first one is down, then I can actually move around safely and target the next one to kill. I died a few times while initially getting it to work, but once I added verdungo's and the Protector's Stone and removed dracul's, I was able to consistently live.
Life Tap turned out to be unnecessary. I think it comes down to there are contently Arrows hitting targets and having 16% leech is enough that one arrow is a full heal. As long as I don't get hit by all the elemental effects at the exact same time, I can live. The fight only lasts a couple of minutes and if it were to go longer than the Fade buff, I would be toast. Dodge and avoid are around 40%, so I imagine that also helps. It's a bit harrowing, but I do enjoy trying to make off-meta things work.
Thats the craziest part of it all. Great stuff.
impressive! i should try it with my strafezon too.. as soon as she hits 97
two questions though
1) are you sure g-face / crushing blow is better than a good Diadem?
2) why Horazon's Hold, isn't it useless without the Boots?

I don't have a good Diadem, so I can't try it. I went for as much CB as possible. The gloves are for more CB and they have decent stats. In a perfect world Blood Gloves would probably be best. My build does miss out on the fastest breakpoint, but getting more ias without a Diadem, felt like a downgrade. The loss of more CB was also quite noticeable.

correct me if I'm wrong but you build has 0 ias? optimal would probably be 2/20 gloves + 15 ias jewel.. maybe even better than a Protector's Stone

Yep, I've got 0 ias with this setup. I had gloves + a jewel for 35 initially and it didn't feel as good when compared to the Stone and Horazon's Hold. I was okay with the slight loss of attacks for a bit more impact on each hit. It's certainly not a fully optimized build, but it surprised me that I can consistently clear with zero deaths and zero pots.

Crazy with your Strafe Bowazone!
A question on smiter: Metalgrid Amulet has massive AR, which is not necessary with Smite. Hie about Saracen’s Chance Amulet? Similar resistance if a good roll, some stats. Does the Iron Maiden (10% chance) make any impact on the Ancients?

Iron Maiden will only hurt the player by overriding Life Tap and/or Amplify Damage. also res is much lower than on Metalgrid, and armor is a big factor for smiter
Iron Maiden only reflects physical damage, the reflected damage is reduced by their 50% physical resistance, they have 670k life and they deal mostly elemental damage, so probably no noticeable effect.Schinzilord wrote: 1 hour agoCrazy with your Strafe Bowazone!

e: forgot the overriding of Life Tap, this makes it a safe way to loose your statues.
Ok, thanks to both of you! makes sense. I forgot that only one curse can be active at the same time, competing with Life Tap
