Like hardcore PK bullies? If so, here is some catharsis for you.

Block, report, and avoid. I find this is generally the best practise online.

Pretty sure the pair of PK’ers that were sabotaging my Baal walks earlier tonight would have left a lot sooner if they realised everyone was going to just stay in town and ignore them, but unfortunately others were determined to try and continue the run… dang it, guys, that’s how they get you! The squelch button is there for a reason. Just take a breath, hunker down in town, and go get a snack while you wait for them to leave. Once they see they won’t find any easy marks for their poor sport, they’ll bail soon enough. Or, if you’re confident in your skills, PK the would-be PK’er right back when they try to come for you and your party. Just make sure you don’t take the ragebait. Stay cool.

As for real life… people will tell you that same strategy of “just ignore them” should always be applied, but… man, it really depends. Seek safety in numbers and don’t let them bait you into doing something you’ll regret.

Sorry to hear you’re going through it, I know I’ve been there. People can be the absolute worst.

In real life: Do something extremely painful to them. If I could go back in time, I'd go stabbing spree and get rid of the bullies as they ruined my life and it has been a living hell to go forward ever since. If I could return, things would get messy. I was stupid coward for not doing anything other than telling teachers etc. and wanting to change school which never happened as "you would get bullied in new school too as word travels". F-ck bullies and just simply put get rid of them. You lose nothing as your life most likely gets ruined none the less, but it all depends how hard you were bullied.

In game: Do the same if on HC, hunt them down and kill them. Dont leave them alone until they completely disappear. If on softcore, just block and ignore those cunts.

EDIT:
I said what I said. People defending bullies are or have been bullies most likely as well.

I hope you can overcome the pain and hatred one day.

But be carefull in giving such "advices" inflamed by hatred.

If its real big problems, talk to real adult people you trust. And if its really bad, you need to be honest and express how bad it is.
And always be aware that life is changing quickley. You are in a bad spot now, but mostly theres a way out of it. Search for it and take your chances seriously.

Sorry about what you went through and that the adults in your life didn't do their job. No one will take what you're saying as actual advice, so whatever, but the attitude that leads you to say that anyone who doesn't validate you is automatically a bully/bully enabler is just a sure fire way to never deal with your issues. This just reads like attention-seeking, which is fair enough if you're in pain, but when you do get attention, don't waste it: talk to your friends (who will challenge you), a therapist, or someone whose opinion you respect.

ANYWAY, advice for bullies.

In game it's easy. Create a new game, make it private/set a password, play with your friends. Also, while they're in your game, don't give them any sign that they're getting to you, that's exactly what they want.

Real life... It's hard to tell with no details, but generally speaking: put up some resistance. Bullies are typically path-of-least-resistance idiots, if you defend yourself, they are likely to go somewhere else. If they are fixated on you, do go to the adults. I have a kid and have found that bullying is taken much more seriously now than it was when I was a child.

Advising someone to hurt people is pretty disgusting. This post is actually pretty scary dude. Stand up to bullies? Yes. Commit acts of violence to combat bullying? No. Hate breeds hate, it's a dangerous road to go down.

I have no idea what you've been through, and I believe everyone has been through something or other, but I find it hard to believe a "stabbing spree" would fix your or anyone's life problems. It sure as hell would create some, however.

All trades are negotiable within reason :)

Well, the specifics matter as far as how to deal with a bully. But at a high level:

Think about what the bully is getting out of the interaction, and then think about what actions you can take to deny this.

In game PKing is an easy example (unfortunately easier than most real life situations). Presumably they are enjoying the thrill of the hunt and the feeling of superiority when they kill you, as well as potentially enjoying your reaction and seeing you get pissed off. Best thing you can do is either quit the game and create a new private game, or just go to town and let your character wait there while you read a book or do something else, checking every now and then for when they leave. If there are others in the game with you and you go the quit option, you can potentially invite them to your new private game.

Another in game response that would be potentially great is to do a post on here like people do when they need help with uber ancients, to have specialized PvP diablo2.io'ers respond to kill the PKer. More satisfying, but some risk of not achieving as great an effect as ignoring them, because even if they wanted easy prey, some of them might just be bored and actually not mind a high level PvPer coming in to try to take them down.

For real life, I would distinguish between bullying in private and bullying in public. For private bullying, to the extent you can avoid them or ignore them (if the bullying is only verbal), I would say that is a good route to go. They are enjoying the reaction they get out of you, and this denies them of that reaction. If they are persistent and ignoring doesn't work, at a certain point follow the public advice listed below.

For public bullying, they are getting not only your reaction, but the feeling and recognition of the dominance they have established over you in a social setting in front of peers. In that case, ignoring them is likely not enough, especially if they have established you as a frequent, favorite target. Against verbal bullying in a public setting, I think it is best to "bite" back in a natural way. Ask yourself - how would a confident or high status individual respond if someone tried this on them, and try to act in a similar way. In general, I recommend just calling them out on being a dick. Something like - "what's wrong with you dude? shut the fuck up." But as always, the specific situation matters, and you don't want to act in a way that would be viewed as an over reaction, which they may then attempt to flip on you, so use your judgement for the specific context.

Note that in all of this advice I am generally referring to verbal or non-physical bullying. The same principles apply to physical, but the stakes, tactics, and risk/reward are potential different. If physical bullying is involved, it probably makes sense to get an Authority figure involved (police, school principal or administration)
