Can be used to make Runewords:
no
The game is epic, the dlc a success. New changes are coming that are very good for the long health of the game...act 6 in september probably.
So...answering the question...No! the game is not ruined, on the contrary, it's never been better that now.

Maybe I haven't been paying attention... act 6? i didn't see anything about that! Where is that info? I'm curious how they would fit that into the continuity since we know what happens in D3/4.MOX wrote: 13 hours agoThe game is epic, the dlc a success. Will act 6 also happens in d2?
This is my theory (just speculation, i don't have any confirmation about this) on why we probably get act 6 in Blizzcon 2026 (Sep 12 – Sep 13).phirren wrote: 11 hours agoMaybe I haven't been paying attention... act 6? i didn't see anything about that! Hint 01:
Cinematic video about the Warlock...
D2 Parts:
- Second 0:09 to 0:40
- Second 1:12 to 1:34
- Second 2:02 to 2:13
In Second: 0:21...the Warlock talks about "The Church", probably talking about the "The Cathedral of Light".
What we know about this part of the Lore:
* Origin: Founded ~3,000 years before Diablo II during the Sin War, it was designed to combat the Triune, which was a cult serving the Prime Evils.
* Fall and Rise: The church was originally destroyed in ancient conflicts but returned with Inarius before the events of Diablo II.
Probably in act 6 we are going to discover the first steps of Inarius on the inception of the modern version of the "The Cathedral of Light" we see in Diablo 4 and the first stage of evolution for the Warlock Class.
Hint 2:
Diablo 30th Anniversary Spotlight...
Check second: 38:22 (https://youtu.be/KnAsWN-6hvw?si=x9D0CU5IQfkFuqZV&t=2302)

Yeah, overall I think ROTW was a positive, especially if the proposed changes mostly come through. As others have said, I do not enjoy the current Herald system, players like myself who can usually only play a little bit here and there are punished whereas streamers who play for 12 hours straight would get a lot more benefit.
But the QoL improvements are good, and the prospect of additional content has me cautiously optimistic. I think the expansion has probably done well enough commercially that they can justify the investment in more content.
Overall, it feels to me that successor titles didnt do as well as Blizzard wanted, D2R being as popular as it is, it might basically take up the mantle of being the current "premiere" Diablo title, the one that gets the development love, new content etc.

@MOX Would love to see this in a seperate topic / thread here on d2io.MOX wrote: 11 hours agoThis is my theory (just speculation, i don't have any confirmation about this) on why we probably get act 6 in Blizzcon 2026 (Sep 12 – Sep 13).phirren wrote: 11 hours agoMaybe I haven't been paying attention... act 6? i didn't see anything about that! Imo it would be a lot better if tzs lasted multiple hours, with maybe 2 active at once so u have less of a chance to get stuck with something poop for like 4 hrs straight. i'm not sure why they decided to make it shorter? it feels like the opposite direction they should've gone ... i feel like it would be a lot more exciting to get a good tz knowing that you have enough time to get something that you want out of it, and knowing that you could go days without seeing it again. I think it would make something like tz worldstone keep feel like more of an event. now, I don't get excited to see it, more annoyed that i have to stop what i'm doing and rush to go do it. knowing i'll probably not get anything from it (at least as a build that is not well suited to farming it)Schnorki wrote: 15 hours agoI will say, the "forced fomo" of statue rotations combined with the "can't leave, locked in, no trading or quickly helping others or anything" of having to keep your shard game and Herald progress alive did indeed severely impact my enjoyment of the game. And certainly not in a positive way.
on topic though, my opinions towards d2r/rotw in general are like 99% positive despite obviously having many issues. i think that gaming spaces and communities tend towards negativity in a really abnormally intense and off-putting way. it's like a pathological need of people to criticize every single thing so harshly. coming from league of legends for example, the way people complain CONSTANTLY and viciously over every single aspect of that game, saying every single balance change is game ruining and that the devs should be shot... like why are you even playing the game if you HATE every part of it

Imo D2r was abomination to begin with, just a cash grab milking tool to sh-t on the fans. But now as they noticed how popular D2r actually is, they know theres more to milk with it.
I dont want to follow d2r patch notes as they almost always just make me sad, nothing improves and things just get worse and worse as time goes by.

I don't have to read your posts, I just see "Semirotta" and know that there's another whiny post about how the game sucks. Honestly - if you don't like it THAT much, why do you keep playing? Just stop tormenting yourself.Semirotta wrote: 4 hours agoImo D2r was abomination to begin with, just a cash grab milking tool to sh-t on the fans. I think the information you used to form your opinion is skewed.
Cash grab, after 20+ years? D3 and D4 are cash grabs, and cartoons for that matter (imo, hated D3, won't even pick up D4 unless there's some cross game rewards or something down the line now they linked the Warlock in... I digress).
This is the second or third "heavy" thread about how the game sucks in the same amount of days. Oof.
Boys (and girls) - Maybe you are either playing the wrong game, or if you don't like RotW then tell my why you can't just go back to LoD? I'm sure you can find traders that will take your RotW loot for LoD loot bc I do it all the time here and vice versa. I've been trading runes on NL for items on Ladder even.
Anyway, I get some ppl are disappointed with the update, then don't play it, or be patient for the Blizz team to figure it out and fix it, as they are in PTR.
I just don't understand why you wld go to the Seattle Seahawks team page and say they are trash for winning the superbowl, then expect all the fans to agree with you?
Watch a different team (play a different game) then? Most of you (assumingly) are going to bitch, but still play the game.
Some things never change... womp womp.

Oml, I used to play LoL, for a short time bc all my other gamer friends were into it. That community is TOXIC AS ALL HELL. I hated the game bc the community was so fucking harsh, it was like fuck this. I just played TfT and after a while just came back to good ol' D2R. So yeah, I feel that pain for sure!kerph wrote: 4 hours agoImo it would be a lot better if tzs lasted multiple hours, with maybe 2 active at once so u have less of a chance to get stuck with something poop for like 4 hrs straight. i'm not sure why they decided to make it shorter? it feels like the opposite direction they should've gone ... i feel like it would be a lot more exciting to get a good tz knowing that you have enough time to get something that you want out of it, and knowing that you could go days without seeing it again. Never bothered with LoL much myself but sounds like in that, too it is just a "different DotA 2" then. ^^Bizington wrote: 3 hours ago[..]

The only thing that made that game bearable to play was the "mute all chat" option. Literally the single most important feature in the entire game. Sad as it is.
No, not ruined. Not perfect, but far from ruined. And chalk me up as another who simply cannot comprehend the mindset of a person who chooses not only to play a game they hate, but to talk about said game online. Look after yourself by doing something positive and that you enjoy!
