Well, when I made this just now I wasn't speechless for about a minute, I was flipping out haha

This ethereal Thunder Maul dropped no sockets and I debated cubing for a chance at Fortitude base. Then I remembered I still need Breath of the Dying for my chronicle since I'm making every runeword so I socket quested it.

Bummed that it isn't also a 15% ed superior base but man. This beats even my 40% +394 Grief roll I got years ago. Is this the highest damage you can get on a runeword aside from Grief? Breath of the Dying in a Thunder Maul?

I was gonna wait until I got an ethereal War Pike to drop to make this but I'm glad I made it now!

"Highest damage" is relative. In terms of pure weapon max dmg, it'd be up there. Though a superior base would obviously beat it by up to another 15% ed.

In terms of actual final dmg though, you're naturally looking at more than pure weapon dmg, depending on the build.

Aside from Warlock usage, I was also wondering if this would be better for a Fury druid than this Death Decapitator that I made the other day. I guess it just depends on whether I'd be farming or killing bosses/ubers since the Death would give him an easy 100% crushing blow setup.

I'm trying to think of other builds that would even use this Thunder Maul.
