Ive heard some of the stories about it still going on now (and the list of items people are getting and posting on d2jsp) but what are they using to do all this? In the old days, Blizzard didn't really care, and it was pretty rampant, but with ROTW out, is there going to be an overhaul to the bots people use?
Can be used to make Runewords:

as far as I know, blizzard still dont care about it. law says no but no police reinforcement to execute it.
And it helps to sell more copy than actual player. Each active player can have several different bot account...
the real problem is electric Bill, it will way cheaper if you just pay to buy runes than 'botting spend in electric Bill'

The moment Activision got their hands into Blizzard; they stopped caring. Up until then they still banned botters. Unfortunately nowadays they absolutely do not care and do nothing about it. This is in D2 original, D2r, D3, Diablo immoral and Diablo 4 aswell.
Nothing is done to the hackers, doubt they have the means to do anything about them really, why else would they be so ignorant about such an important matter?
You can even buy costumes etc. in Diablo 4 and just refund, still keep your costumes... So what do you think their anticheat systems are if this is how their shops ingame work?

Intentional. Ive always called Immortal Immoral.
let's think about this.
in unspoken fact,
let's say "if"
bz make it legal with condition, if you want bot, you have to purchase another account and bot yourself. Also bz provide a easy way to translate Jah into bitcoin. In which bitcoin is not "real" currency.
Doesnt that sounds familiar to current world?
Current d2 world is rely on bot , if you want less bot world, look into hc ladder or old LoD market, that is what bot free world looks like. All items are not friendly and expensive. it is hard to find some good stuff...so does to low runes and short in many things , like Perfect Gems.

Anybody whos into bitcoin or any kind of crypto coin fits into either of the two categories: Grift scammer stealing morons money or moron whos having their money stolen by said grifters. I dont see any other groups for these people.
You dont generate money out of nowhere. Its always rug pulls and the dum dums putting money into these just do not learn.

things are there, the fact, all gov does not official announce bitcoin as real world money. And the game item , Jah runes , of course is not real money.Semirotta wrote: 4 hours agoAnybody whos into bitcoin or any kind of crypto coin fits into either of the two categories: Grift scammer stealing morons money or moron whos having their money stolen by said grifters. So what is problem when you exchange some not real things to another?
Base on this point, you should think it is item for an item exchange. technically, not violate the idea, no real world money involve in .
See, this is the conflict point of people thinking...
---
in reality, it is real and in asia world , especially japan , it is protect thing.
And in war area, it is must, iran people need bitcoin to translate their money quick to avoid it become nothing...
The thing I mention earlier, freely exchange between Jah and btc, that is just trying to say, we are already there. the difference is only bz does not official announce it.

If there weren't botters, it would be really hard to get an anni, at least online. I believe they implemented that originally to reduce the amount of botted SoJs on the market, but now it's basically required to pop dclone.

Dclone was put in post 1.10 to help get rid of the #1 duped item in the game, and back in the day it was actually difficult to get Dclone as it was not just the right server region but the SAME specific server. All this did was give incentive to dupe more SOJs. Just like any and all HRs that existed were also runes that would *poof* disappear as they were duped as well. D2R adjusted HR drops and suddenly people are now actually finding them....hmm..like there is some kind of connection here.justinman114 wrote: 1 hour agoIf there weren't botters, it would be really hard to get an anni, at least online. Bots have always existed, and always will. The unspoke truth is, I firmly believe this, majority of players would not want to play D2 without bots existing. Case in point, I just found for first time ever a COA. I have never found Death's Fathom, Griffons, Tyreals, Schaeffers, Windorce, and I probably never will. These items exist to players because of bots. When I traded for my first Griffons, I did not bother to ask questions, I just assumed this seller used a bot. I have a Death's Fathom that I assume as well the player used a bot.
Personally think drop rates (regarding quality) should be improved. Maybe even a Players 8 command, or even better no more shared loot to get games of 8 players. These topics usually get shot down quickly. My personal preference would be for a player to have an option when creating a game whether it would be shared loot or not, and if no shared I could accept the drop rate to be lowered than a normal game of 8 players. But drop rates as they exist now, just begs for bots. If players truly want to rid themselves of bots, learn the lesson they did with HRs & D2R. Increase the drop rate, make it so finding a Griffons is realistic with a time investment. Players will spend the time, they need to get something out of it. Part of the whole mess with Heralds & Sunders, players spend 8 hours in the same game, and come away with nothing.
I'll sign that 100%.sbn wrote: 1 hour agoDclone was put in post 1.10 to help get rid of the #1 duped item in the game, and back in the day it was actually difficult to get Dclone as it was not just the right server region but the SAME specific server. Without bots some items would straight up been unobtainable, however I do think TZ changed this because everythings TC now, I pop in and out and usually play D2 for a couple of months. I've never found Windforce, Grandfather and i used to Dream about these items when i was a Kid.
The last 2 weeks I've found a Griffon's Eye, a Windforce and The Grandfather. But I've also invested quite alot of time since i started playing 3 weeks ago (my work pretty much enables me to do TZ Act 1 + Act 2 during work hours on the side screen).
When i've TZ 3+ Act's i havent walked out of one without atleast a couple of Jah's worth of items (even tho most of them just because wlock items are in demand) and skiller/life charms, also been lucky with the heralds and found 2 Latent charms. (I'd say I've killed about 200+ lvl 5 heralds)
I don't want to invalidate your opinions and experience with the game, but I would like to give my perspective as a Single-Player-only player (so nothing about bots or online economy):sbn wrote: 1 hour agoBots have always existed, and always will. I came back to D2 last December and played somewhat regularly (and intensively) until February; just the last three weeks have been slower, but still playing some 30 minutes TZs when possible. So far I've found three SoJs, three (!) Death's Fathom, two Windforce, an ethereal Griffon's Eye, one Schaefer's Hammer, two Crown of Ages... etc etc. Only one Tomb Reaver, but about 8 (!) The Reaper's Toll. The list could go on. These were mostly found while farming TZ Bosses, especially Andariel and Mephisto, but the other three have dropped some goodies too (yes, even Duriel!), and of course if you're playing lvl 90+ TZs any monster could drop a TC87 Unique item... but I'm yet to find a Blade Of Ali Baba, for instance.
Anyway, what I mean is: these items are much much more common than high runes for the various runewords. Of course, RNG can be a b*tch with drops of Unique items too... but as a self-found single player, the major problem is finding enough high runes. I got two Lo and two Sur, but no Ber or Jah or higher...
EDIT: oh, I forgot to add: I almost *only* play on /players7, so of course this has a huge impact in the quantity of items dropping...

LF:HRs, Perfect Gems, Perfect Amethyst, Hel, Ral, Key of Hate Key of Terror Key of Destruction. Do not ask me how much an item is worth value is perceived. Please use the price checking tool before posting an offer please.
