Description

Perhaps I am simply not using the trade forum in the intended way, but sometimes I offer a multiple of the same item in one thread with the intention of trading with/giving away to multiple users. However, when I mark the thread as Sold, I am unable to select more than just one user as the trade partner.

Is it feasible to allow a single trade thread to be marked as sold to multiple users? Perhaps this makes tracking trade volume difficult, but the alternative (a trade thread per each individual item) would mean even more trade threads than they exist already.

Related to above, allowing a trade thread to be marked as sold to multiple users might allow traders to consolidate deals with similar LF values into a single thread, allowing more ease of navigation. Instead of 20 items (and thus 20 threads) all asking for a
Lem
, it could be a single thread per user marked as WTB
Lem
. It would make things easier for people who want to spend their Lems (or similar), too.

I understand this might be a trade forum software limitation and I'm not demanding this change. :) But I thought maybe bringing this up might be nutritious for a possible future overhaul.

This is not possible without a huge refactor of the trade system code, and would be a massive undertaking (unfortunately).

Comment from Teebling in another thread (feedback/give-trust-without-closing-trade-t1091155.html) from 3 years ago:

In regard to OP's request - it's not possible due to the way the trust mechanic was coded - I did not factor in the possibility of multiple trusts per listing when I wrote this a year ago, and I cannot easily change this without a huge refactoring of the codebase.

What people with listings like this tend to do is ask their buyers to leave a comment/review/thanks message in the topic to show other prospective buyers that the service being offered is legit and worthwhile.

OP
So this was brought up before! I take that it's a seriously massive undertaking if it was brought up 3 years ago and has not been reflected yet.

In the meantime, I'll live with it. o7
