Can be used to make Runewords:
This is not a real thing. Single player you can use hero editor (3rd party app). Certain mods allows for infinite respect. But there are no infinite free respec in online BNet.
But you get one free respec from Akara in act 1, per difficulty.

You get 1 free respect from Akara after completing Den of Evil in each difficulty.
If you want to respect after this, you will need a Token of Absolution.
If you want to respect after this, you will need a Token of Absolution.
Not gonna lie, if holding down a Key and clicking randomly killed my entire build every time, I would've quit this game decades ago... 
This is an offline only hidden feature. To do this in online play will required that you have either an act 1 Akara respects available, or a handy supply of tokens of absolution.

Better this than ruining your build because you've clicked the wrong stat/skill... But we've endured that (pre-1.13)...
That was part of the challenge.
I remember the good ol' "math first!" days of keeping extra str and dex stuff on hand to hold you over until you found the perfect stat roll of the thing you ultimately wanted to equip, so as to not have to ruin your character by blowing an extra stat point that would ultimately just be wasted.
