... I'm worried that the game will be turned into a milking cow. Now you're required to buy an update every time, otherwise you'll fall behind and be unable to interact with others.
This is my concern. I don't want to diminish what Blizzard did here, it looks great. Maybe I'm dooming, but I saw what happened to WoW (even though I never played it) and it's easy to find a significant chunk of the playerbase that feels like it's no longer the same game. 30% of Youtube is WoW players talking about how they don't like it anymore and (insert favorite expansion here) is where it peaked and should have stopped.
I hope we're not headed into a model with a game rework and expansion every six months or year. LOD went from 1.08 all the way to 1.14 and look how much was added and re-worked without charging more.
Old man still killing demons and yelling at clouds.
I'm very interested in what other players will say.
I'll say right away that I didn't buy the update because I don't have any extra funds right now to spend on games.
I'm in a place where fighting is taking place and the game really helps me calm down and escape from reality. But unfortunately, now the game that I officially bought for money has become practically non-functional.
I won't be able to play with people who transferred their characters to the new version. They have a different interface and, effectively, a separate lobby. And I also won't be able to exchange things with them.
The main problem is that NORMAL games have donation content, but the interface is shared, and absolutely all players participate in the games together, whether it's a premium account or purchased in-game characters or items.
Another problem is that a new update can now arrive every half a year or year. You'll have to buy it every time, otherwise you'll be playing alone.
In my opinion, it's not quite the right way to deprive someone who bought the game of adequate gameplay. After all, they won't be able to fully utilize the gameplay, features, and gameplay, and connect with all players.
As for me, they need to create a common interface and common games, just make additional content a little differently. And now it's clear that an already divided society will split even further.
And again, I'm worried that the game will be turned into a milking cow. Now you're required to buy an update every time, otherwise you'll fall behind and be unable to interact with others.
I want to know what the other guys think about it. Thank you for your answers and opinions.
I would like to buy the expansion for you. Can You add me as a friend? I know from my world travels what fighting and Chaos the world outside causes. If you would like I'd be willing to share some worldly love.
Dude,
This is an incredibly generous offer,
And I honestly don’t know what to say.
On one hand, I’m happy and surprised that there are people willing to help.
On the other hand, I have no idea how I could thank you, or whether I should even accept such a gift.
You should accept it! If he hadn't offered I'm pretty sure I would have, or someone would have. This is too big of a deal to not help out. We've been playing this game for a quarter century! Let us know how it goes.
Usually looking for Runes, Essences, PGems, Tokens, Keys, etc.
Always willing to discuss and negotiate Check out my "Free Stuff" tab for...FREE STUFF! Before adding me on bnet, please comment on the trade so I know who you are!
In my opinion, Blizzard delivered more than promised. I'm very happy with the update, and honestly, we're talking about a 25-year-old game; it can't be easy, for example, to mix players in the same game with different content packs. We need to remember the technical aspects, and as mentioned, the game needs some form of funding; updates and maintenance aren't free... and I believe this might bring a breath of fresh air to the community with more people engaged in the game.
Exactly, I know some people are concerned about paid updates. I understand how annoying that may be for some. But, if we don't pay for content for D2R -- we're NOT getting new content added. I've heard people say, "I don't like the value for the money" or "I think Blizzard is greedy". OK, I get that. But, the only way we're getting content is if we pay for it. That is the situation. I am very happy with the changes, would like to see more changes -- so I have purchased the content (on multiple accounts). Hopefully, more content will come in the future, and we don't have to wait 25 years for it.

The Blizzard forums are literally filled with people whining that they have to pay $25, this sense of entitlement that this company would devote resources to a 25 year old game as what, a gift? Just mind numbingly irritating the complaints, as if this was expensive. The alternative reality is a subscription model, something every single D2R player should be thankful we do not have. This is a model that started with the likes of Adobe, now Microsoft (Office), where everything is subscription based. No matter how it is done, a private company does need to make revenue. Like these whiners think employees work for free.
While I am not particularly impressed with the Warlock, the changes alone were enough to make me happy.

It's unfortunate to see the complaints on the forum; people aren't even satisfied with themselves, imagine how unhappy they are with a game. That must be why they complain so much.
Blizzard has jumped in with both feet to make the character a 'raving Queer' on the Character page like they added an Adam's apple to the Amazon.
Warlock screen
Expect the Warlock to be seriously Nerfed I played the first few hours in '8 player' tanked Ravenclaw & Countess without even noticing that it wasn't 1 player
yeah Act 1 Norm is not the entire game but that is when you have no Gold no items no runewords and you shouldn't be steamrolling the game.
The new Chest looks promising but the disconnect from all previous play and no update to their Chest sucks. Either get DLC and start all over or live with the problem they fixed but WONT fix for the older characters.
Akara only having one Dagger is BS especially since the RNG on it will likely be a 14,000 GoldDagger you'll have finished act 1 before affording/buying it. When you do have the coin only the bottom end daggers show up.
Warlock is going to be a character you will be respecking later in the game it's a tough call to decide which build wont knee Cap you at higher levels until you get there.
as for what they added to the actual game haven't reached it yet to comment on it yet. soloing through to hell should be interesting.
is the dlc worth it?
HARD choice you will be giving up your previous work on the characters and everything you've accumulated know that before you chose!

I think it's nice they added an openly LGBTQ+ char.
D2R is nothing but a highly complex paper doll dress up simulator.
I've got 100+ crafted amulets (from cheap to gg). Let me know what you are looking for.
Hi,
My heart is broken. Somehow this expansion ruined everything. That was my Game, ive played it for ages, and now ive hit 7lvl with warlock and cant stand it. Can watch it. Im getting too old. Old things shouldnt be changed like that. Im so old and im crying becouse of game… ridiculous. Mabye it will pass, but somehow on deep lvl im hurted. Im so old and im crying like a child, whats wrong with me? It was my comford food, my Ground, pillar of my sanity… f u blizzard
Quite OP class, I'd say. I started playing today, got the Horadric Cube in Normal. I didn't port any gear from D2R, so I am testing the Warlock from scratch.
I didn't want another summoner or a spellcaster (I've got plenty of them), so I am trying the Eldritch tree for the most part.
It's one of the easiest low-level characters I played so far, similar to Holy Fire Paladin and Fire Trap Assassin.
I found the idea of using any two-handed weapon with the Echoing skill a bit too powerful. I imagine this can scale to absurd levels with crazy combinations like The Reaper's Toll + Spirit shield + Crushing Blow, but it's probably a bit too early to be sure.
I am also avoiding build videos from MrLlama, at least for the time being, otherwise I will spoil the endgame by prematurely seeing it with Enigma and other high-end gear.
