Has anyone had a good experience with Traderie? Just recently tried it and so far I've responded to three offers for

Pul runes for gems/low runes there offering the buyer's exact stated asking price and have either been completely ignored or in one case actually actively declined on an offer that remains open when searched for. Seems kind of like a waste of time generally. Have I just had bad luck here or is this typical?

Hit and miss for me.

Sometimes I find good deals and the seller responds nearly instantly, and the trade goes smoothly. This is how I got my

Zod and some other runes to make a BotD and CTA.

Other times, I give the exact asking price and no response, then after a day they decline the offer.

Also, the "Looking For" feature is confusing.

There's been a number of reports of frequent scamming, phishing links, and fake offers on Traderie, so it's up to each person to be attentive when using the site. I've done well enough on diablo2.io, and in-game trades to not have a need to use Traderie, but that's just my experience.

Yeah my experience trading here is generally positive or at very least characterized by people who appear to actually want to sell the shit they've put up for sale if you have what they've said they're looking for. Did a quick search for Traderie related posts here before posting and they're almost all related to people getting scammed

I use Traderie regularly - it's quite a different experience than here on diablo2.io, that's for sure, and yes, there are scammers there and you need to be careful when dealing with people who have a low number of reviews, or that don't have the maximum 5.0 score, but overall, I'd say that I've had far more good experiences than bad there.

The majority of my trading is on ladder, so keep in mind that this is coming from a ladder perspective. I find that the ladder activity on diablo2.io is a bit lacking. It's better here on non-ladder I think. I used to trade on both sites in parallell but I was getting so few offers on my listings that eventually I just stopped putting up new listings here. There's a number of items for which you can hardly find listings at all here, while Traderie is overflowing with them. Yes, a lot is overpriced, but that's just asking prices, you have to look past those. Scroll past the the first 5, 10, whatever, insane listings that some users keep bumping (if you're a monthly subscriber you can bump without limitations and some abuse this), and you will find the real listings, from regular people, with decent value or even bargains. There's plenty if you just look past the bumpers. Another advantage of Traderie is that all the Koreans are trading there, and the Korean D2R community is huge. Ladder trades in general are also generally a much better experience early ladder, during the first couple of weeks, up to somewhere around halfway through the season, and we're currently in the late stages of the current season, but that's true for any ladder marketplace, I think.

As any unregulated free market, there is always going to be scammers and people looking to take advantage of others. But like I said, I've personally had far more good experiences than bad there. It's far from perfect, for sure. And I hate their aggressive & disruptive ads (I use an ad-blocker normally, but whenever I visit the site without it's rage inducing lol). If you know how to use it and accept or at least can look past its flaws, it can be great. But obviously, if you don't like it, I'm not here to try to convince you to do so, just providing my perspective on it.

I prefer here, that's why I am a mod here, but for high end stuff there is much more options on Traderie. But I almost only doing the buying there, not the selling.
Especially the charm skin swapping is way easier there.

From what I see, it is averagely 1 trap/scam in each different category out of 100. Some just not so problematic trade, they just give bad review without trade.

Finally was able to get my rune from (I'm pretty sure) an Asian seller and the whole thing went pretty smoothly, accidentally wasted the time of another one with a boneheaded ladder/non-ladder mixup but he was prompt to respond to the offer and eager to sell from the outset up to that point. Not discounting the initial wheel spinning but it's probably better than I initially feared.

I've had good and bad experiences on Traderie, but mostly good. Traderie is a different Beast than here. When someone makes an offer on an item you are selling on traderie, the expectation is you are available to trade immediately. You experience the opposite here on d2.

Io, which I prefer.

Out of 700+ trades on traderie I've only experienced a scam attempt once. The most common annoyance there is someone making an offer on an item I'm selling, I accept within 1-2 minutes, I make a game, and send them the info. Then minutes later they cancel their offer. I just end up blocking those people for wasting my time, which is between 10-15 so not that bad either.

I have 600+ trades on d2.

Io and never experienced a scam attempt. I've had a few low-ballers and people with bad attitudes, but I just block them too.

I still list all my stuff on both sites, but I search here first when trying to buy. If I can't find it here I'll go to traderie.

Yeah, the Korean sellers are mostly a pretty impatient bunch and the timezone difference and language barriers only compound that. You can absolutely still make deals with them, you just need to get fine with a pretty high percentage falling through through no particular fault of your own

Traderie is really good place to offer crafting materials, good bases and low runes in bulk, much better prices and really quick sells, but you need to adapt for specific savoir vivre and Asia timezone.

EDIT: What I said applied only to softcore non-ladder games, don't have experience with others modes.

well, I have known a few japanese / koreans and chinese and I'm pretty sure the Asian savoir vivre is quite much more respectful than that

That's happend, depends what you sell they are more or less patience. My advice is relist your gears when you know, you will be on browser for at least 30min, If nobody make offer that's mean you have to wait for another relistening available, because if someone serach anything on traderie they check the newest offer in interesting price.

When you get some experience you will enjoy that quick response, I changed 2 jahs in 3

This is likely because the buyer put an offer on multiple listings for the same or similar items, and as soon as one seller responded they cancelled the other offers as they only needed one. I don't mind that at all, it's a fast market (well, can be). It sucks when you miss a potential deal because you weren't at the PC at the exact right time, but it is what it is. There's usually so many listings up for the same item that a buyer can pick and choose between sellers, and they do. Don't let it get it to you. Sure, it's a little annoying when they pick the "seller was unresponsive" reason when cancelling after just a few minutes, that doesn't make any sense when it's just a matter of minutes (personally I wouldn't use the "unresponsive" reason myself unless it had actually been like a day or more), but the reason they gave you ("item no longer needed") but even more so the "offer accepted by another seller" one explain exactly what's going on - they had put offers on multiple listings but only needed one.

I think a lot of people on Traderie have the expectance that green status = actually at/near the PC and being ready to trade. If you know you're not going to be able to get to the PC to trade within a reasonable amount of time, set yourself to yellow status (busy). It communicates to potential buyers that response might be slow, and then you shouldn't be getting offers where the buyer expects a response within seconds - well, at least it should be happening less frequently.

on the contrary I've some messages pending where I ask for a time to trade ... without response in the last 24h, looks one way round to me

(I had a few trades without any problem though: 10/18 so almost 50% cancellation)

It's hard to draw any conclusions from this except that people are different. Unless you know for sure that the person was actively trading with other people despite not responding to you, then it could just be that you were unlucky to run into someone who really wasn't able to be at the PC for that long. But I can also say that if you're trading actively, it can be easy to miss offers, messages, etc - it drowns in the noise. I have stints where I trade a lot, with 10+ offers out at the same time for various items while having lots of my own listings up, and the Chaos that ensues from all the responses and simultaneously getting offers on my own listings can be a bit much. I've missed messages and accepted offers many times because there was too much going on at once. I.e., sometimes individual notifications drown in the flood of notifications, and the only way to know you've got an offer that you missed, for example, is by actually going to the received offers page.
