Can be used to make Runewords:
because crafted stuff are bullshit.
Because of the "of the Lamprey" suffix. When a crafted ring rolls this suffix (6% mana leech) it often comes with a level 95 or 96 requirement, depending on what other affixes rolled.
Edit: You can avoid this by gambling and crafting your Blood Rings with a lower character level. The optimum range for this craft is level 80-83.

This sounds cool. I'll have to try your optimum range of 80-83. I'll probably stop getting results like the OP is stating. However, the internet teaches people to use Characters above 93 to gamble. Therefore to gain access to the best stats, attributes and rings/amulets. For many of my characters, the Terror Zones are above level 96. And the internet teaches people to be sure to gain rings and amulets from Terror Zones. Clearly the internet is 86.666666% inaccurate, right? But we've known this for years....Knappogue wrote: 14 hours agoBecause of the "of the Lamprey" suffix. And it will likely get worse with the AI Garbage out there touting the "Tin Hat" people's illogical views.
Vampire suffix on a ring is affix lvl 86 but crafted items have inflated clvls...

only amulets req. a high level (to get 2 skills)...

I read somewhere that to get the best crafting rings... Gamble with Gheed using a mid level character. The article stated that many of the best attributes for rings will be better taken using this method.
I have not used a character at level 80 to gamble though... I usually use a character that is 47 to gamble or find rings. However the atttached pic reflects the OPs pain. Fortunately for me, my Barb can use this ring.
There is a difference for rings and amulets. Optimum for rings is 80-83 to maximize desired affixes but not high enough to roll "of the Lamprey".QuadraHedron wrote: 14 hours agoThis sounds cool. Amulets it's 93+ to guarantee an ilvl high enough to roll +2 skill.

That URL reads like the other article and states pretty much the same. I believe that many people get caught up in the need for the very most affixes possible 100% of the time. Therefore, they want to combine the highest cLvl with highest iLvl. I have had rings that were over iLvl 71 and have gotten fewer than 4 affixes, but i put that up to RNG.
If you viewed these with an Amazon the level req would be much lower
The 6% mana leech affix req Clvl 96 on certain crafted rings for some reason.
However, having a lvl 97 character, I wouldn't care if it had that level requirement if the other stuff was good enough to use.
I think people like to have 5% mana leech on the crafted rings to avoid this high level requirement.

+2 to skill tree only requires iLvL 50 IIRC. Probably why someone said mid-level is good enough.
+2 to [character class] skill levels requires iLvL => 91. Therefore, this has a higher chance of having +2 skills to the relevant area one is seeking. To obtain one that is iLvL 91 or higher, any amulet gambled+crafted from a lvl 93 char (due to how crafting works) or farmed from a lvl 91 TZ can spawn with this affix.
+3 to skill tree cannot spawn on crafted or rare items, only blue/magical quality. Don't recall what the iLvL for those is off top of my head though.

It has to do with the mana leech affix, but also has to do with the total number of affixes. The item you're posting has 7 total affixes, which inflates the req level higher than if it had only mana leech and 1-2 other affixes.
For example, a rare ring with only +AR, +max stamina, and mana leech would not have anywhere near level 96 required, partly because there are only 3 (three) total affixes.
Crafted rings and amulets roll with the guaranteed mods plus the 1-4 random mods. The way crafting works is the input iLvL of the item + clvl of char crafting = output iLvL of resulting item.
The higher the output iLvL, the higher the chance for it to roll up to 4 random mods on top of the guaranteed mods - as opposed to low output iLvL which is more likely to spawn only 1-2 of the random mods.
There is more to it than this but that's just off top of my head. Crafting is a science unto itself that gets deeper than most people realize at first.

Nah, you just gotta understand the science behind it and how it all works.
And additionally, know that crafting is very much like target farming - you're gonna Wind up with alot of junk and very little worth keeping, and you're gonna be very frustrated and disappointed if you're expecting to get that +2skills +20fcr +20allres amu (or even those first 2 affixes) from you first 10-20 crafts, or even your first 100. But eventually it can pay off. Just don't do it expecting to make a profit, generally speaking.
