Guys...it's nothing really...just a token to keep the community strong. Sometimes a gesture is all it takes, sometimes said gesture may (just may) stop the scumbags being scumbags...I'm hopeful but not holding my breath. Collecting 100
Ral
(or any rune for that matter) takes
Conviction
and aptitude so it should be rewarded, even if it's just from us.

Someone once told me... "Never go full Sigon's"..... Sage advice!

Always available for help/trade and maybe some freebies along the way depending on what I have and what you need
7
I got scammed by the same person today. I traded 10 millions of
Gold
for
Ist
rune. I dropped all the
Gold
on the Ground. That person changed the chars few times to carry all the
Gold
and then they just left without giving me the rune.

The ID was Playa#1996, I read it here too late :D

Be careful guys. 10m
Gold
is not a big deal, but it still sucks when that happens..

Please check my FREE tab. I am always trying to get rid off stuff :)

I am very sorry to hear that. If you can't make it happen through a single trade window or multiple trade windows, using equivalent value intermediaries as I mentioned earlier, it's probably not worth doing it at all. There is just too much criminal activity from randoms.

GEM, low/mid runes, socket quest are the favorite of the scammers. Reading review sometime does not help bcuz as soon as they stole and left they block you right away so no chance to leave 1 star review for them.
I think there are just few scum bag sneaking around, the community there is great, just that need to remember their scam patterns i.e extremely attractive trade like 10
Jah
for 30
Ber
or 1
Jah
for 60
Mal
or their 1
Jah
for your 100 gem...

any of my trades can be converted among:
Ist
,
Key
, pgem, token, essence Destruction
base unit is
Ist

1
Ist
= 25 pgem
1
Ist
= 4 keys
1
Ist
= 1 token
1
Ist
= 4 essence Destruction

new acc alert : obo, his old account gone, new create

those scammer now try to bid 140 x things,
I notice this because someone trying to sell 100 token for 14
Jah
. And that scammer bid in, get 40 token , run away without paying. It is almost like 4
Jah
worth value.

Be careful , when trade over there. If you arent sure it is safe, use trade window or small replacement rune.

Favor
Perfect Amethyst
over
Perfect Skull
...
These days, I don't need that much
Perfect Skull
, it is less encourage to pay in
Perfect Skull
but it will treat slightly better than
Perfect Gems
.

If you're ever unsure, open the trade window ingame. if they don't want to trade then it's probably dodgy

See this is exactly why I don’t participate in this trade market, while you and so many others were so insistent that I participate this guy was probably getting scammed and you yourself sent me links to this site with no warning is basically throwing me to the wolves. Yeah I got a low rolled mosiac but I only want Pgems cause I’m rolling grand charms. Bam scammed out of hundreds Pgems. I believed you for a second then I came here and seen I need intermediaries so I don’t get scammed when I find a trade

This is making the scammer problem sound bigger than it actually is, as if every other trade is a scam attempt. Yes, it absolutely happens, I'm not denying that at all. I know several people who's been scammed once or twice on Traderie, or seen obvious attempts. Yet I've conducted thousands of trades there and I haven't been scammed yet, I haven't even seen an obvious scam attempt. I'm not trying to make it sound like I'm some kind of grandmaster of trading (I'm not!), just trying to point out that it's possible to trade there without issues. It's part luck of course that I haven't run into the wrong person at the wrong time (sometimes you're just not as focused and attentive - and sometimes all it takes is a moment of inattentiveness at the wrong time), and it's probably bound to happen eventually given the amount of trading I do. But I'm not going to lay sleepless over it.

- Only use the trade window (unless the other person has hundreds, if not 1000+, of 5 star reviews, and their average is actually 5.00 and not 4.99)
- Always double check what the other person has put into the trade window by inspecting the items, especially if they close it and re-open it (that can be a sign of a switcheroo attempt)

These simple rules are true regardless of if you use a third party website to facilitate the trade, or if you only trade in-game.

I was just review trade record and see there is a very big win for seller(reasonable high price trade within possible trade range) and when I go into it , it turns out seller been scammed.

I am not victim or the other side. Just passenger....
If you go into some trade history, you may find something interesting there. (for outsider, not involve in that tragedy )

Welp, obviously I dodged a bullet yesterday.

I was about to trade 110
Perfect Amethyst
for
Jah
with a guy who contacted me via traderie. First look at his profile: 5 ratings overall, all 5 stars.
So I guessed, better not do drop trade, but propose the following: 1st batch 37pa + 3
Vex
for his
Jah
. 2nd batch 33pa, he gives me back 1
Vex
. 3rd batch 40 pa, he gives back the remaining 2
Vex
.
When he joined he already was acting weird. Switching characters multiple times, posting the
Jah
to proof he has it, telling me he will count, implicating he will not drop
Jah
immediately, ofc just to buy some time while I unload my stuff.

So I proposed the trade mentioned above. But ofc he was acting like he did not understand and told me the trade is for
Jah
, not for
Vex
... As soon as I said, there will not be a drop trade, he replied "ty" and quit.

Checked back later on traderie, and guess what... Next dude was not so lucky.

Unfortunately I do not have his Battlenet handle. However, do not trade with this guy.

You can click the 3 dots and report him using the "Report User" function.
7
Yeah, but the form needs some image attached to submit it. And I did not take any screenshots. Furthermore I would not have proof of him scamming me, since he did not.
Of course I could attach anything (e.g. screenshot of his recent review) and report him. Not sure tho this will do much...
Hope the other guy reported. But his account does not seem to be suspended so far.
7
Fuck it, you are right. I just attached the same screenshot as shown above. Worst case the report will be without any effect.

The player in question has gone rogue, no doubt about that. I also got scammed by that trader recently.

He had, at the time, several hundreds of reviews - and here is how I fell for the scam - we did a trade weeks earlier and I suspect this is just another "clever" trick - and it worked this time on me. It was just a trade with a small value.

The first thing I do for obvious reasons - is to take a quick look at the reviews and the kinds of those. If my own acc name shows up as the first one, that means that we have conducted at least 1 trade in the past. My guards went down too fast from there as I did not notice that the following many reviews were full of warnings.

Loss: 4 x
Jah
- not a big deal (I will get back to this later, since I am not trying to undermine anyone by saying this).

My biggest loss: 55
Jah
runes - back when small charm 20/5 was at 55 - 60
Jah
.

I have always conducted drop trade whenever it was convenient - I do this several times weekly (when I peak with trades) - and the amount is up to 40
Jah
to this day.

All in all - i have been scammed maybe 10 - 15 times - ranging anywhere from 1
Jah
to the 55
Jah
scam. And I have to admit, that calling it a scam might even be a bit overrated - since the fault is mine and mine alone. I still have a gut feeling that it was a "caught in the moment" that made the other one run away with the 55
Jah
runes - it did not feel like it was planned (he stayed in the game, silent for a few seconds) and there was more than 300 positive reviews. Maybe he got scammed earlier and thought - "this is my chance of breaking even". And as a big note - the small charm was listed at market value at that time - not 10
Jah
cheaper or even more as you would sometimes see.

Now, as Shadowheart pointed out - you should keep in mind that the majority of trades are still made with success by honest players. My guess is that more than 99,9% is done respectfully and as it should be.

This is based on my own trading experiences - I would estimate my number of trades to be around 10.000 !

I also trade a lot ingame - though this is mostly when I need a break from any other numbless activity :-)

So, when you take all of the mistakes I have made and hold it up against those 10.000 trades, it becomes a marginally loss. If I had not dropped those 55 Jahs it would be absolutely insignificant for me - in the total trades perspective.

As many traders on this site can confirm - I only do drop trades. If for any reason you dont like that - you are welcome to trade with others - no hard feelings from me. I still get a smile on my face when I trade with some of you "newcommers" when I can smell your fear of being scammed. I have aborted a trade with one of you today because of this and I do not wish to trade with that person again (I might soften up since it was just annoying to me, time will tell). And before you go all warrior on me, let me explain why!

When you trade a lot - I am talking several hours of non stop trading on any given day - you simply wont get anywhere when buying
Perfect Gems
in bulks etc. - if you had to use the trade window every time. I would still be stuck in 2024, doing my trade number 4.000 - if I had to do the trades via the window. Now, let me add to the fact, that we have a review / trust system for a reason. If that reason is not there for us to trust each other, then we might as well scrap it?

i would also like to add - that I have never been scammed on this site ! There have been a few mistakes from others, but none worth mentioning in relations to scam.

The main reason I get a smile on my face, is that I always drop my end of the bargain before we start - last trade was misc items for a
Lo
rune. I understand that when you are doing your 6th trade since you started on this site - you might feel a bit unsafe - but here is my point: I have more trust on this site than any other (legit) traders - if you dont trust me, given the amount of trust i have compiled over the years, then how will you ever succeed in trading?

Further more, please pay attention when you enter a trading game - many of you dont even notice that I drop eg.
Jah
/
Ber
/ 8
Ist
or whatever we are trading. I always add "Please pickup and drop after" - so you have absolutely no reason to be afraid of being scammed in that trade - you can pick up ... and then drop - for me its all about saving time.

Some really useful (according to me at least) advise to those of you who sell in bulk on traderie:

1. Scan the reviews - look for anything but 5 star - also if comments has been made, read them.
1.a Scan the items that have been traded in the past - the most notorious of all scammers on traderie will have a certain Pattern that you cant miss. The account will almost without any exception have 100 x 5 star reviews - but they will all be of nearly the same item which is more than unlikely. The one in question is ALTAIR - and recently he has been changing the "interface" of his account(s) - they were so easy to spot in the past, but with the new "layout" its a bit harder to spot. But use your common sense - if a trade looks too good to be true, then it probably is - get your greed in chains and move on :-)
1.b If you are selling eg.
Perfect Amethyst
- then scan for prevoius trades with these - if the buyer has many of those already - the odds is that this is a safe trade
2. Upon a successful trade with eg. 110 Perfect Amethysts - make a comment instead of just hitting the 5 star button - it helps everyone - I often write "100 x drop trade confirmed! - Or something like that.
3. This is by far my best advice for you who sell, to prevent those scammer comments - when you get a "ding dong" on traderie - do not accept the trade ! Use the message button and start the conversation there - wait until the trade is done and then hit accept. Why? This protects you from those few scammers that leaves false reviews on your profile. I have learned this the hard way.
4. Do not engage in reporting on traderie unless you have 100% proof. This will only open up for the scammers to make false accusation against you and get your account blocked. Speaking from experience.
5. The only way you can get close to 100% proof - is if you record the trade - I use OBS for this (though I really really dont use it - but this can help you - let the other one know that you record the trade and ALWAYS remember my next advice
6. Whenever you begin a trade - ALWAYS use "who" to get the bnet id. The biggest scammers on traderie has the same bnet tag - they simply never change it.
And on top of that, when I was scammed the last time - "playa#1996" came up on on the screen and I was like ... that sounds familiar - then proceeded to drop :-) Keep in mind that I already checked the reviews and found my own acc name on to of the list - thinking this is just another safe trade :-)
7. Try and scan the market for smaller size - eg. the 110
Perfect Amethyst
trade - could you do with 40 x
Perfect Amethyst
trades instead? I know it will take you a bit more time but at least you can be safe by trading in the window.

I probably have left out many things - feel free to ask questions if needed.

And one more tipp - that applies to real life too.
If a trade is too good to be true - it probably is. E.g. 100
Ral
for 1
Jah
? 100
Ral
are roughly 5-7
Ist
. And not a
Jah
.

I don't want to shift blame or something like that, but there are a thousand different scams out there in real life. And most exploit one of two things: Greed or fear.
So if something in real life seems like an awesome opportunity - it probably isn't. And if something looks like "OMG, if I do not act right now I am screwed" you will probably best of to do - absolutly nothing.
7
Please also be careful with the trade window! Most of you already know this very old scamming trick, but maybe there is a noobie here that does not know it:

Some scammers will show you the item you want to buy (let's say an
Archon Plate
Enigma) in the trade window, you hover over it, it says Enigma, all legit, then he suddenly cancels trade, because he has "no inventory space" or any other excuse, then he restarts the trade, but this time be puts a shitty
Archon Plate
or
Light Plate
or whatever the f*** in the trade window and you don't check it again because you saw the Enigma the first time.

Although I have know about this scam for 20 years, I nevertheless fell for it a year ago. (I did my best to pester the guy in every game he made. He blocked me, but I just...stood there next to him. He was annoyed.)

A
Jah
for 100
Ral
is not unrealistic. Bulk prices are higher than making trades for Ists. I have sold lots of batches of Hels for Jahs and the Hels were never worth more than 6 - 8
Ist
in total. Bulk trades can be really, really profitable for the seller of the low runes if you have the patience and stash space.
