SSF Vmagi socket

So last night I was farming NM Andy for an SoJ (got one!) and also looking for a Vipermagi since I still hadn't found one. Well, I found 3. Best roll was a 32 all res and perfect 13 MDR. Wondering if I should go for a better all res or just socket this, knowing another roll probably won't also have perfect MDR. Am I splitting hairs here?

EDIT: I am probably going to farm another SoJ, so I might see more chances, but in case I don't...

It all depends if you need the resist or not. Imo vipermagi is a bit pointless to aim for anything perfect due to it being in use so short time. Usually you change into something better

do you need the socket urgently? if not you can just wait till you get a better one.

For what build is it ? If it's for a

Nova sorc, typically, Vipermagi is best in slot, so socketing it (and even upping it possibly) is a good idea in the end. And for

Nova sorcs, more res is nice but less compulsory than for other builds, especially if you have a Cure Insight merc on the side that will allow you to be more lenient even with Poison res.

I would just socket it and use it. If you do find a higher one then socket the new one if you need it.

If you don't have anymore socket quests just build a paladin with

Holy Fire and he can get to act 5 fairly quickly for the socket quest.

It'll be an all-purpose armor for multiple characters, but yeah eventually probably for a

Nova sorc mainly. I know it's not best in slot for many builds, but on single player I'm not out here making a bunch of enigmas and chains of honors, etc.

For a

Nova sorc perfect DR is nice and high res too - socketing seems fair.

I think any Skin of Vipermagi with more than 30 all resists is worth socketing (and maybe even upgrading), especially with perfect magic dmg reduced.

By now I believe I have 3 of them socketed — lowest roll is 33, but would definitely do it on a 32 one

In SSF I wouldn't even think about that and have a

Topaz in there in no time. Unless I desperately needed res and had a spare

Alright well, in my searches for another SoJ, I have of course found another Vipermagi. A 34 all res/9 MDR lol. So, is 2 (or even 3 if I find a 35) more all res worth losing 4 on the MDR?

I don't believe you'd have noticed if you had zero MDR on it. As far as I'm concerned, "now" is more important than "sometime in the future".

Yeah that's fair, but "now" I'm running nightmare andy for a SoJ so it doesn't matter yet hehe. I'm just curious which stat helps more.

Go to market, search full res(35) and 12-15 MDR. It should be very cheap.

RES is convenient and usually more useful than MDR. Unless you are running low res , otherwise MDR is not important.
In full resist case, 15 , 11 is different level.
Every MDR need /4 . it is not even reach 1 point damage difference.

As for that res 32 thing, my recommendation is sell cheap and hope it can reach someone who need it. (NL SC)
Remember to put a price tag that it will makes it really reach people who wish to use it. I suspect some kind of waste in free item section.

This is single player, that's why I'm curious as to which one I should use as my "main". I cannot trade to get another one!

That's kind of what I figured, but I like to get other opinions/facts

About MDR, test it in full res, 13 MDR vs 15 MDR. Or 0 MDR vs 3 MDR

All Res (75) vs Some Res(72)

MDR test is 1 point difference, Res test I guess it is 3 + difference. As for monster smaller than nilahank, I dont think you need MDR．

My

Nova sorc is running 85-95 res. I play that when I am not really focus and casually play. when it is 95%, MDR is almost nothing. 20 MDR is only 1 hp.

I usually put

Shael in it for FHR. Sorc builds need that 86 FHR breakpoint to hit 7 frame FHR, which is same as Barbarian/Paladin/Assassin at 15% FHR. Helps alot with survivability.

And if you decide you want that same Armour for use on a FoH or Hdin, the added FHR can still help by allowing you to focus more on other things/opening up slots.

Well, still no SoJ but now I found a 35/10 Viper so I guess the whole thread is moot and I know which one I'm socketing xD
