If you’re depending on the mdr from Nagelring to keep you safe against council hydras you have some much bigger gear issues. While mdr can be really strong, especially with es builds, on Nagelring it’s not large enough to be effective compared to alternative ring options, maybe with the exception of an immortal sorc build, but those sorcs generally aren’t built for MF.Tornado_OLO wrote: 9 months agoNagelring provides a nice Magic Damage Reduced By 3, so 6 with dual.
Add the 8 magic damage absorb from Spirit and again Magic Damage Reduced By 15 with Tal Rasha's Guardianship and it's almost no damage with close to 75 fire res against concil Hydra.
If you’re needing defensive stats on your MF ring, then a 15 all res, 25 mf ring or a ring with a single res at 30% and 25 mf is a way more effective use of a ring slot. It’s also possible to get a blue magic 120 mana ring with 25 MF if you need the mana. (I am considering such a ring for a build variant that uses a merc with Infinity instead of Insight.). Technically, the best MF ring is a rare ring rolling with near the max of 25% MF plus some other useful mods, but those are incredibly rare.
