Description
Good evening,
For now my Lightning Fury Amazon was using Phoenix Monarch, which is actually quite comfortable.
Damage-wise, it is not making that much sense. Aura is nice, but thats pretty much it.
In a game, a similar zon changed to a JmoD with 4 5/5 Lightning Jewels. Said the difference is incredible.
So i thought i give it a try. Now the minor problems:
1. JMoD is rare and expensive. Do I really need it? She gets not hit anyway most of the time so i am not sure if the quite expensive blocking feature is really worth it.
2. Using a normal 4 socket Monarch would probably do the job, but i would not waste 4 5/5 Jewels for this.
So my thinking was, just test with a normal 4 sox Monarch and non-perfect Lightning Jewels, if there is really such a difference.
Some 4/4 od 4/5 Jewels should also do it and are way cheaper.
So my Question: Is there a huge difference between a JMod with +/- 20 to lightning dmg/resist and a Monarch with maybe +/- 16?
Would a unique Trollnest with 3 5/5 Jewels be a better option? or Even Mosars?
Will the +/- 16 Monarch make any difference at all?
Crap Jewels are not expensive, but i thought i ask here before i maybe waste them.
Thx in advance!

Of Deflecting: 20% Chance to Block & 30% Faster Block rate. The first saves some Dex which u can invest into Vita, the latter is quiet useful but not that vital imo.
Would give the 16 Monarch a try. +4%/-4% does not sound like much of a difference to me. But using such shield instead of Phoenix raises another problem: Mana. Thats why i saw some Zons in the wild socketing 4* +3 mana after kill / 15% Ias Aureolic Jewels of Fervor in their Jmods
Would not waste expensive perfect Lightning Jewels on Head Hunter's Glory. Not that its a bad shield, but the only stat with some use on a zon (besides res if u need them) is life after kill
But why not use one of the char editors out there and test it in sp on cows?

You have to do real test to see if there is difference.Baron_G wrote: 2 months agoGood evening,

If you play 1p , that I can answer you. No difference unless you vs Baal or uber bosses.
In 1p , 3/5 x4 = 5/5 x4 , or if you want best price value peak, 2 3/5 + 2 some jewel = 5/5 x4
Generally, -3 resistance = +1 jav skill , (test in light Fury = 38+)
If you have specific focus, i.e. Terror Zone in a5, it is different story, you need to run test again.
I am equip no facet 4os in shield for 1p
========How to test===
You need to run char planner first, then
use +1 skiller charm,
-16+1 skill = -20 resist
-12 +2 skill = -20 resist
I usually run it several times and remove unnecessarily over-damage things.
My conclusion is that, you might only need 1-2 facet and +3 skiller in 1p.
So in 1p scenario, craft shield is equal to jmod if you roll good.
Fury build , normally I throw and dont do melee , this scenario, other things like mana, resistance , even dr is works on me , makes it equal or better than jmod.
Favor Perfect Amethyst over Perfect Skull...
These days, I don't need that much Perfect Skull, it is less encourage to pay in Perfect Skull but it will treat slightly better than Perfect Gems.

OP
ok thx for the answers so far, gonna test it. would you say -5 or +5 is more imprtant?
+5 = 1 skill
-3 = 1 skill
You can think -5 = 2 skill
base on my test,
-3 = 1 skill

In my build, best setup is 2 3/5 facet, but I socket 3 facet to counter some rare cases.
My mana is around 600 that I only use 1 blue water 1 run.
Best shield for 1p is rare shield. that is almost impossible to roll.

Personally I prefer Stormshield for Javazon.

In my opinion, it is alternative best choice.
same q to jmod, 4 socket +1 affinx
I am thinking about craft shield
Lr + ar + 2 socket + (life/block/7 DR)+ craft affinx
craft shield will get 1 craft affinx more than jmod, but it is impossible roll.
if no need for light resistance or 4 socket, Stormshield will be better than all those shield.

There is a huge difference to use between lower end jewels and perfect jewels. So even if you test with Monarch with lower end jewels, it wouldnt provide fully the same picture how good it would be with perfect ones. Id just go for jMod if possible as you can just hold on to that and use it on other characters if feel like it later on. Its not "waste" even if its expensive, jMods just never going to be cheap unfortunately
the cheaper way to test it is just use Thunderstroke.Semirotta wrote: 2 months agoThere is a huge difference to use between lower end jewels and perfect jewels. and run planner, dont overstack the -r than you need.

IMO mana is never an issue on Javazon because I don't mind just spamming mana potions
Usually looking for Runes, Essences, PGems, Tokens, Keys, etc.

ML on ring and/or gloves with an upped ethereal Titan's Revenge helps mana regen a lot.
