Achieving 5 fpa on IK set post 2.4 patch

Hi guys,

I'm leveling a new barb char (hitting lvl 76 soon) using IK set. Understand that post 2.4 patch we can using off weapon IAS but unfortunately WW 5 fpa is max achievable unless using swords (Blizzard's intent).

Thus am I correct to assuming to hit 5 fpa WW using IK set
- 2 x

Shael on IK

Maul (+40% IAS)
- Highlord's amulet (+20% IAS)
is all that's required to hit 5 fpa WW?

IAS workings:
- IK

Maul 80% (40% from weapon, 40% from 2 x

Shael)
- IK gauntlet 25%
- Highlord 20%
total 125%

says 125% to hit 5 fps

Yes, that's right. You can also hit the breakpoint more easily with a Faith merc, but I guess that is pretty expensive for this build

Edit: you could also consider putting ias jewels in your

Helm and armor to hit the breakpoint, leaving the weapon slots free for enhanced damage jewels. Others with more experience running this set probably have some other ideas for how to optimize the build

Seems right to me: 125 (40+40+25+20) ias to 5 fpa

no need for beserk

I read somewhere 4 fpa only achievable by swords post 2.4 patch. All other weapons max is 5 fps.

Didn’t max my points on skills, still saving them but I’ve max WW. I’ve to say it’s quite a disappointment killing d clone using IK set. WW seems not killing it. I’ve to switch to

Concentrate to kill d and man…. Let me tell u it took me ages to kill d.

Do note I didn’t use Ani charm. Just charm skillers to max my Barb char. Intent is to kill d to get ani, then kill uber to get torch (all legit

P.S. need to

Life Tap otherwise won’t make it on life leech alone

I’ll probably respec again and max WW and

Mace Mastery and try Uber. Hopefully I can repeat what I saw on Iceman’s video. But truth be told, using Grief + Last Wish WW smash monsters like knife over butter. And that’s just 3 - 4 points on

You can test different weapons yourself in Warren's IAS calculator. All 2h weapons are capped at 5 frames, and all 1h weapons can reach 4 frames. But a barb can use 2h swords with 1h, so they can reach 4 frames

I'm not surprised you are having trouble with ww vs. dclone, because your level is very low, and undergeared ww often has attack rating issues. Your chance to hit is a combination of your character level and attack rating. So you can improve your chance to hit by leveling up, boosting attack rating on your rings and charms, and making sure you have

Enchant active from your armor

You should be good for farming

Travincal with this setup, which is a great place to drop runes or good items to trade for runes. The next tier for ww is Oath in an

Eth base, then Grief, then two griefs

Ubers takes special gear and is not a typical goal for a ww build in my experience

My hit rate was probably in the low 70%s. My dex is decent and I’ve a 249 AR perfect RavenFrost. Was complacent, didn’t bother to use demonlimp to cast

Enchant. I’ll try again on next d clone and see how it goes. But I guess if I’ve leveled up to say 85, it might be an easier trip. Will try again w/o Anni charm

U’re probably right my hit rate is not high enough given the level disparity. Barb was on IK set 40% perfect

Maul, perfect Mara, 249 AR perfect RavenFrost, SoJ. IK understandably is not the ultimate end game gear, just an experiment going for repeating Icement YouTube video for uber end goal

I think I know why it took a long time; I didn’t have any open wounds to stop d from regen. Will have act 5 merc wield Malice + Last Wish instead of Grief + Last Wish.

P.S. IK set doesn’t have any ow and I dun wanna use any amulet/ring with ow as Mara, RavenFrost, SoJ or Bul-Kat ring is my goto for these slots

For dclone, you can use prevent monster heal, which has a very long duration, so you can have it on another weapon or another piece of gear for the first hit, then swap it out. For

Got it. Thanks for reminder on Highlord.
Barb is my 1st melee char. Last 3 being Hammerdin/Auradin, Lightning sorc and Mosaic sin. Mentality kept to +skills….

U’re Absolutely right deadly strike dps returns outweight +1 skills from Mara

Btw I’ve a mistake in my post above that my hit rate is low 70+%. It should be high 50ish against d clone at that low level.

I’ll keep game alive before going to sleep tonight to test against d clone again soon.

Unfortunately, u can’t achieve 4 fpa on WW unless using 1h swords. 5 fpa is best achievable all other weapons

Yes, sorry, I meant the max breakpoint, 5 frames. The merc build is very expensive and it seems like it wouldn't matter what you run as a main build
