Javelins and
Arrows
are broken in diablo 2. They
Pierce
through armor like its butter and even destroy health as it goes. No logic in any of that. Ive learned to go after such enemies instantly or avoid them as much as possible.

I have 2 dead hc ssf sorcs offline. One was 77 and the other was 89. They both died in
The Forgotten Tower
level 5 from enchanted archers there.
That place is randomly very dangerous.

I was farming for runes, both of them had done countess several times, but you go in and there's a might or
Fanaticism
pack, you tele in and boom insta Death

Currently playing SSF Offline only
93 Javazon - 91 blizz/orb sorc
91
Dragon Tail
assassin - 72 and growing FOHdin
Current goal - offline Enigma. 0.5
Ber
runes away

Was this on hardcore? Cause you surely shouldn’t be in Hell at level 55 on hardcore unless you’re very experienced or doing some kind of speedrun or low level challenge. On softcore, sure, if you die you can just save & exit and try again. On hardcore, if you actually care about making it, that’s a different story, you only get one life…

I'm in CET (Central European Time), so that's UTC+1 normally and UTC+2 during DST.
My profile says Ladder, but I play both Ladder and Non-Ladder.

My Holy Grail Tracker is for Offline Hardcore.

It was HC. People on Switch seem to rush me a lot and give special items. I started a Javazon and he gave me Titans Revenge for an unknown political reason. Unfortunately I can't continue my 20 Javazon because my Switch subscription ended. Will have to wait till I get back to my money bank.

Edit: I have also been given my 57/58 Druid Jalas
Mask
. I suppose its some sort of sentimentality of being a HC player. :)

Edit 2: Also HC players I imagine always get Doom at least once so its a learning curve I guess.

I like HC for the fact that you don't end up levelling into Infinity and the rush of it all. My objective is the build styles not the style of play. ;)

Oh yeah, it’s a learning curve if you come from playing mainly softcore. Gotta be more cautious, focus a bit more on defensive stats, etc.

Countess Tower is very underrated for its danger. I've lost two of my HC characters in there, so for me it's been the most lethal area overall.

If I read the OP correct, did you start Hell at level 55? If so I think you were pretty underleveled. I never start Hell until I've leveled into the mid-70s after beating NM.

It tends to have a lot of packs spawning with unpleasant combinations of buffs, so yeah, it is definitely not an easy place until you have some serious power.
It's similar to Durance, if you get a nasty monster spawn, you ain't getting down to Meph without serious pain.

A big +1 to that.
