Hi all… I took a break from d2 and am now returning and thinking of playing the ‘often neglected’ Druid. Somehow I can’t decide between the Wind or fire Druid. I’m looking for a build that has fast clear speed (esp high player count).
For those of you that play druids, what would you suggest?

Can be used to make Runewords:
Fire + blasting rammstein on max volume
Can't say anything about Wind Druid, but my Armageddon/ Fissure Druid is doing OK in P8.
No cookie cutter tho....
Biggest disadvantage is you can't aim very well. Just burn everything around and hope it hits something. Not my favorite playstyle, but it looks amazing.

Wind druid is kinda meh in PvM because the cold damage source deals little and the physical sources are blockable (at least partially) and resistable.
With fire druid you'd be cycling through all fire skills as they come from cooldown, and burn everything without aiming in a radius around you. Needs Infinity, better yet, with Phoenix on top.

If you get a PM offer, post it in the trade. Promote healthy competition instead of settling for less. 
I recommend the one and only summon druid Works on selffound gear even through hell and can clear nearly everything in the game - with good gear even Ubers (and druid gear - especially summoner items like skillers are very cheap). The drawbacks are relatively mediocre kill speed, the bad ai of the summons and you cannot kill monsters yourself But even before I got an Enigma it was fun to play.
My son is currently leveling a Wind druid (yesterday he did the respec from fire to Wind at 38). We will see how it plays out.
Otherwise I recommend to take a look at the druid guides on Maxroll. IMO they are quite good.

After a 20 year break from D2 I started playing D2R in 2024 with my sons (9 and 10 years old)

Guess I should give fire Druid a try. My Wind Druid is fine just not very engaging. You cast Hurricane, run around mobs, and everything dies. One button wonder. Can cast a Tornado or two just for funsies but not needed.

)A few weeks ago I bought gear to try fist of heaven pally for the first time. I'm enjoying it better than dragondin. At least I get to spam one button instead of running around and melting with fire. I'm 1 and a half bars from 97 on him.
