Being only one of two unique elite xbows, the
Hellrack is an often overlooked, but potentially powerful weapon. The main problems with this weapon are two-fold. With an extremely high strength requirement of 163, this is a dealbreaker for most classes and builds to consider this weapon. Secondly, the weapon is glacially slow with it's attack speed, despite the 20% IAS that comes with the weapon. Once these issues are overcome, the weapon is actually quite hard-hitting and does great in Hell difficulty, albeit lagging behind popular favorites such as
Windforce,
Eaglehorn, and even upgraded
Goldstrike Arch or
Lycander's Aim. The weapon comes with two open sockets, and a popular solution to the slow IAS of the weapon is to socket x2
Shael runes, or IAS jewels to help mitigate the slow attack speed. In terms of hitpower, the
Hellrack truly shines with it's massive elemental damage, ensuring that whatever it hits will not be immune to one of the three elements it has in it's stats, as most Hell monsters are only immune to two elements at most. Despite these issues, the
Hellrack is arguably the better of the two elite xbows compared to
Gut Siphon, and still retains a use for certain builds out to endgame.
