Due to the indestructibility mod, Oath works well with ethereal weapons, and with a high roll its damage output can rival the best weapons in the game while having a fraction of the cost involved. It also features charges of

Heart of Wolverine, which can significantly increase damage and attack rating for the player character and their minions or allies.

Defensively, it is one of the few rune words (along with Spirit) that offers general purpose magic absorb, which can be stacked to significantly decrease the amount of damage done by hostile magic, which is not common however.

Thanks to a recent patch, Iron Golems no longer randomly disappear, making this safer to spawn Golems from Uniques or Runewords. Additionally your IG will remain with you between games, including when logging-in/out of a server (personally tested).

The Charges in Ethereal items as mentioned cannot be recharged, however a workaround is possible while using a higher damage Ethereal base while retaining your Golem. Options include:

1. Make a secondary Non-Ethereal Oath, cast the

Charge, Equip Ethereal Oath.

2. Equip

Metalgrid (Lvl 22

Iron Golem), cast the

Charge, equip Oath, replace amulet with preferred option.
