No one can join your game if they don't know what it is or if not on your friends list.

I don't think they've been adding people to the list on the front page in a while.

What usually happens is that a player posts here asking for help, and whomever sees the message first responds.

At the top of the page, there's a "More" button which lets you bookmark this thread and be notified when someone posts here. You can enable email notifications in your account preferences as well.
